The swiss canton of Zurich (in german Zürich) has a population of some 1.2 million. Its capital is the City of Zurich.
The canton of Zurich is situated on the northern side of the Alps. Its neighbouring cantons are Schaffhausen[?] to the north, Aargau to the west, the cantons of Zug and Schwyz[?] to the south and the cantons of Thurgau[?] and St.Gallen[?] to the east. Most of Lake Zurich is located within the canton.
The Canton is divided into 171 communities in 12 districts:
The parliament has 200 members elected every four years
The cabinet with 7 members.
