Yeshivish

Yeshivish is a term sometimes used to denote the language spoken in Yeshivos (sing. Yeshiva). It is a dialect of Yinglish.

Some words primarily used in Yeshivish include: Mamesh, Takeh, Gevaldig, Geshmak.

Yeshivishe means of or pertaining to Yeshiva culture. A classic example of this is a Yeshivish car. This means a car driven by somebody who attends Yeshiva and typically drives a jalopy as nobody expects anybody from a Yeshiva to be able to afford better.
