Redirected from Xfs XFS is a high-performance journaling file system created by SGI (formerly Silicon Graphics Inc.). In May 2001, SGI released XFS under an open source licence.

It is currently available as a patch against the 2.4 series kernel and is in the main tree for the 2.5 development series.
