Vale of Glamorgan

The Vale of Glamorgan is an exceptionally rich agricultural area in the southern part of the former county of Glamorgan in Wales, UK. It has a rugged coastline, but its rolling countryside is quite untypical of Wales as a whole.

Recent local government reorganisation has elevated the "Vale" to the status of a county or unitary authority, as well as a parliamentary constituency. The main town and largest centre of population is Barry. Other small towns are Cowbridge, Llantwit Major and Penarth, but a large proportion of the population inhabits villages, hamlets and individual farms.

Villages of the Vale include Aberthin[?], Bonvilston[?], Colwinston[?], Corntown[?], Ewenny[?], Llanblethian[?], Llancarfan[?], Llandough[?], Llandow[?], Llanmaes[?], Llansannor[?], Llantrithyd[?], Llysworney[?], Ogmore-by-Sea[?], Pendoylan[?], Penllyn[?], Penmark[?], Peterston-super-Ely[?], Rhoose[?], Sigingstone[?], St. Athan[?], St. Donat's[?], St. Hilary[?], St. Mary Church[?], St. Nicholas[?], Sully[?], Wenvoe[?], Wick[?] and Ystradowen[?].
