Vaalserberg

The Vaalserberg is a hill of 321 m in height, and it is the highest point in the Netherlands. It is located in the province of Limburg, in the southeasternmost tip of the country near the town of Vaals, some 3 km west of Aachen. It is also noted for being the location where the borders of three countries intersect, those being the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, which gave the spot the name Drielandenpunt, "Three-countries point" (at one point this was even a Vierlandenpunt or "Four-countries point", see Moresnet for the now missing fourth one). This combination has made the Vaalserberg a well-known tourist attraction in the Netherlands, with a tower on the Belgian side offering a grand panorama of the surroundings.
