Tympanic membrane
The tympanic membrane, also called the tympanum, is a webbing of skin extending across the ear canal[?]. It is considered to be the boundary between the inner ear and the outer ear. The tympanic membrane collects vibrations and passes them to the malleus bone, one of the three ossicles.
