The Origin and Deeds of the Goths Redirected from The origin and deeds of the Goths
The Origin and Deeds of the Goths (De origine aebusque Getarum) written by Jordanes at the end of the 5th century AD, describes the origin and the history of the Gothic people as collected from various sources, mainly Cassiodorus, who according to Jordanes had written a much more extensive work on the Gothic people and their history. Cassiodorus' version is not known to have survived, so Jordanes' work remains one of the most important sources for European tribes, and the Goths in particular, during the first five centuries A.D.
