Taisho Emperor

Redirected from Taisho emperor

Emperor Taisho of Japan.jpg

Yoshihito, the Taisho Emperor (August 31, 1879 - December 25, 1926, r. 1912-1926), was the 123rd Emperor of Japan. He was kept out of view from the public as much as possible. This is probably because it is rumoured that he had brain damage caused from lead poisoning. It was a fashion at the time for women to put lead paint on their nipples. Young Emperor Taisho may have been feeding from a nanny that followed this fashion.

Upon his death, he was succeeded by his son, Hirohito.
