Syringe

A syringe is a device used to inject liquid medications into body tissues. It can also be used to suck out some liquid from a cavity. Syringes are fitted with a needle and the procedure of giving some medication is called an injection.

Syringes have a hollow plastic or glass tube (barrel) with a plunger inside. The plunger forces the drug through the needle into the body. Syringes are normally disposable because re-using them or sharing them and their needles can be a means of transmission of many blood-borne diseases.
