PzKpfw I tank class

The Panzerkampfwagen I (PzKpfw I) was a German tank during World War II

The PzKpfw I was designed in 1932 by Krupp in collaboration with the Swedish Landsverk company. Henschel produced the first three prototypes and the first test run was February 3, 1934. In July, 1934, Henschel was contracted to build 150 of these tanks; the majority of which were built by 1937. Wegmann was contracted to build the PzKpfw I in 1935.

For counter-intelligence purposes the design was originally designated as a Landwirtschäftlicher Schlepper (LaS, industrial tractor).
