Monza, Italy Redirected from Monza
Monza is a town of approx. 120,000 inh. in the province of Milan, Lombardy, Italy. Its international fame comes from the Formula 1 race circuit (Monza - Grand Prix of Italy), "home" circuit to Ferrari and (previously) Alfa Romeo.
It is the 3rd greatest town of Lombardy and the most important economical, industrial and administrative centre of the Brianza[?] sub-region.
It was the capital of the longobards in the middle ages and is famous for its Romanic-gothic cathedral, San Giovanni Battista[?], and its historical centre, as well as for the Royal villa (Villa Reale) by Piermarini[?] and its park (the biggest closed park in Europe).
The town also hosts a University (as a Department of the University of Milan), a Court of Justice, and several Administrative regional offices.
Highways: A4-E64 (Turin-Milan-Venice), A52 (North Ring of Milan), A51 (East Ring of Milan). Expressway to Lecco and Sondrio (SS36).
