Megan Kanka
Megan Nicole Kanka, a 7-year-old girl, on July 29, 1994, was raped and murdered by a previously convicted sex offender[?], Jesse Timmendequas, who was living across the street. Her death resulted in the New Jersey Legislature[?] passing Megan's Law[?], which requires notification when a convicted sex offender moves into a neighborhood.
This is a non-profit charity founded by the Kanka family with the intent of preventing crimes against children.
