Marram grass is a species of perennialgrass, used to prevent or stop erosion of dunes. It is a sand-binder and dune-builder and has shallow roots and a coarse, stiff structure.
There are three types of Marram grass:
North American Marram grass Ammophila breviligulata
English Marram grass Ammophila arenaria
Hybrid Marram grass Calammophila baltica - a hybrid from the first two.
