Liaoning
Liaoning (遼寧 pinyin liao2 ning2) is a province of China.

Liaoning is located in Manchuria, in the southern part of China's Northeast. Bordering on the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Gulf in the south and North Korea in the east and facing Japan to its southeast.
The Yalu River marks the border between North Korea and the Chinese provinces of Jilin and Liaoning.

In paleontology, it is well known for its extraordinary fossils from the Lower Cretaceous; eg, the early 'placental' mammal known as Eomaia.
