Formerly a village, Lexden is now a suburb and is situated in West Colchester, England. Lexden has previously been called Lessendon, Lassendene and Læxadyne. Lexden is mentioned in the Domesday Book. The World famous Colchester Zoo[?] is situated in Lexden.
