Kwidzyn

Kwidzyn (German Marienwerder) is a name of Polish city situated at Liwa river in Pomorskie voivodship. The city numberes 37,000 inhabitants (1998). Among its monuments most important is gothic castle of pomezanian bishops from 14th c., modelled on Teutonis Knights' castles, partly pulled down in 1789. From east a cathedral church is connected with castle.
