Kusel (district)
Kusel is a district (Kreis) in the south of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from north-west clockwise) Birkenfeld, Bad Kreuznach, Donnersbergkreis, Kaiserslautern, Saarpfalz, Sankt Wendel.

Coat of arms 
The coat of arms show two lions. The blue lion in the right is the symbol of the Counts of Veldenz, as in the Middle Ages most of the districts area belonged to the Counts of Veldenz. The yellow lion is the lion of Palatinate, who aquired the area in the 15th century.
