Hans Christian Gram

Hans Christian Gram (1853-1928) was a Danish bacteriologist.

He travelled in Europe 1878-1885, and it was in Berlin that he, in 1884, discovered the method named after him, the Gram staining.

From 1891, Gram was professor at the University of Copenhagen.
