Yam

Redirected from Dioscoreaceae Yam is the common name for members of the Dioscoreaceae family. Some species are cultivated for consumption in Africa and America. They are used as a potato substitute in some countries, especially where potatoes were not found naturally, and are often confused with the sweet potato.
