Chaozhou

Chaozhou (潮州 Chao2 zhou1 in pinyin, Chiuchow in Wade-Giles, aka Swatow, 汕頭, shan4 tou2) is a city of China in the Guangdong province. Population 1.24 million.
Chaozhou is located in the north of the delta of the Hanjiang River[?], which flows through the city. It was originally named Chaozhou in the Sui Dynasty (591 AD).
There are ruins of Christian buildings.
