Byker Grove is a British childrens television series which is shown on BBC1, and was created by Adele Rose.
The show has run since 1990, and is set in a youth hostel[?] in the northern English city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
The show depicts the lives of children aged 11-16 as they grow up from childhood to adolescense.
Byker Grove has tackled some hard hitting subjects such as drug addiction, truancy[?], homelessness and homosexuality.
Byker Grove launched the presenting careers of Ant McPartlin[?] (character name P.J.) and Declan Donnely[?] (character name Duncan) and who are otherwise known as Ant and Dec[?].
