Buddhist views of homosexuality

The Buddhist stance on homosexuality is vague, and most of the information regarding it is to be found in the precept against "Immoral Sexual Practice".

As the name implies, this is a very vague precept which can be taken as a condemnation of anything from pre-marital sex to homosexuality. The stance of many Buddhists depends on their interpretation of this precept.

Some people believe that the definition of morality in any of the precepts means the dominating view of morality of the culture in which Buddhism is practiced. If that's the case, then acceptance or rejection of homosexuality may depend on where the practitioner lives.
