The Amadeus Quartet was a world famous string quartet founded in 1947, with members Norbert Brainin[?] (first violin) Siegmund Nissel[?] (second violin) Peter Schidlof[?] (viola) Martin Lovett[?] (cello) The quartet played for over 40 years until Peter Schidlof died. The remaining members decided to disband rather than carry on.
