Air Raid Precautions
Air Raid Precautions (ARP) was an organization in the United Kingdom dedicated to the protection of civilians from the danger of air-raids[?]. It was created in 1924 as a response to the fears about the growing danger from the development of bomber aircraft.
During the Second World War the organization was responsible for the distribution of gas masks, pre-fabricated air-raid shelters[?] (also known as Anderson shelters[?]), the upkeep of local public shelters and the maintenance of the blackout.
