Former big screen heartthrob Patrick Swayze is making a comeback via Whoppie Goldberg’s new TV sitcom.

The stars of Ghost will reunite in Whoppie’s self-titled show this week, which airs on America’s NBC network. Swayze will play a choreographer who worked with Goldberg's Mavis during her brief tenure as a pop sensation.

However, Swayze was initially reluctant to take on the role.

"I looked at the writing -- and these are wonderful, talented people -- but it took a little fine-tuning to get it into that fun repartee, ease, that Patrick and Whoopi have," Swayze told media site Zap2it.com.

"There has to be that sense of fun. I believe brilliance happens by accident, but you can set the stage for it. That's what they do on a daily basis on that set."
