Cast of The OC: A second chance.

Ten have acquired the rights to the US hit The OC – 6 months after Nine dumped it.

In a long tradition of turning other peoples rejects into their own gold, Ten will commence airing the teen soap from Tuesday June 22.

Channel Nine had high hopes for The OC when it launched over summer. However it was quickly removed from the schedule after a few outings due to poor ratings.

Ten believes The OC will appeal more to their younger demographic.

” We are very excited to have the latest hit show from Rupert Murdoch’s giant Fox Network on Ten” said programming manager David Wott.

“We believe that viewers are ready for a new drama and The OC fits perfectly into our schedule on Tuesday nights. It will be around for a long time to come.”

The OC has been renewed in the States for a further 22 episodes.
