A cool cast just got cooler!
According to a posting at his official site, Dutch actor Rutger Hauer (Ladyhawke) has joined the cast of Batman Begins. He will reportedly portray Earle, a corrupt Wayne Industries executive who minds Bruce Wayne's company while he's off training to become The Dark Knight.

Hauer has some interesting connections to past Batman films. He made his stateside feature debut in 1981's Nighthawks, co-starring Billy Dee Williams (who played Harvey Dent in 1989's Batman). He then starred in Blade Runner opposite Sean Young, who was originally cast as Vicki Vale in the 1989 film. He later appeared opposite former Batman George Clooney in Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.

Hauer's other screen credits include Wanted: Dead or Alive, The Osterman Weekend, Flesh & Blood, and the original feature version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He has also appeared on Smallville as "Morgan Edge".

Thanks to Superhero Hype for the heads-up!
