Calling all Crocodile Dundee’s and Steve Irwin clones – American TV wants you.

A new American reality series, Hero of the Outback, is on the search for a true-blue Aussie from the Outback.

The top bloke will get to work, play, wine and dine with 30 American women in what producers are calling a cross between hit reality shows Survivor and The Bachelor.

The successful applicant will need to possess the bush skills of Dundee and Irwin, mixed with a touch of modern day SNAG. He will then go on to teach between 10 and 30 American women to survive in the harsh Australian Outback, and perhaps find love on the way.

Already, over 50 Australian men have approached the producers with their resume. Applications via www.herooftheoutback.tv close at the end of the month and the series is expected to air in the United States around July.
