In a bid to beat Seven's hit Deal Or No Deal, Nine are bringing in Eddie McGuire.

A 30-minute version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire will be soon stripped 5 nights a week, in addition to the regular 1 hour Monday night episode at 8.30pm.

Nine are promising the new format will be much faster and feature more viewer interaction and prizes. However, the network has only slated the quiz show for a temporary stay until the ratings heat burns out for Deal Or No Deal.

A re-formatted Price Is Right will precede Millionaire at 5pm.
