Guess who's coming to dinner
The new preview for Shrek 2 went online late Thursday night at Apple's QuickTime movie trailer website (click the link below to check it out). The trailer sets up the story for the CG-animated sequel a little more than the first preview. And while I admit rolling my eyes a little at the initial trailer, this new one has some really funny and original stuff. It looks great!

In the sequel, Shrek, Princess Fiona and Donkey are all back (with Myers, Diaz and Murphy all returning to the voice cast). This time they're joined by Puss 'N' Boots, voiced by Antonio Banderas and a number of other supporting characters... Fiona's parents, King Harold and Queen Lillian, are voiced by John Cleese and Julie Andrews. And Rupert Everett is Prince Charming. Larry King (nice!) provides the voice for The Ugly Stepsister.

Andrew Adamson directed the PDI-animated feature from a script by Joe Stillman. The story begins as Shrek and Fiona return from their honeymoon. Fiona's parents have learned of their daughter's nuptials and they invite her and her true love to visit their kingdom, a land called Far Far Away. Shrek and Fiona arrive and her parents are shocked to see a big green ogre instead of Prince Charming. DreamWorks' Jeffrey Katzenberg says, "It's a little bit of Guess Who's Coming to Dinner meets Shrek."

Shrek 2 is set for a May 21 release.
