This should put a smile on Channel Ten’s dial.

Could Law & Order be spinning off into yet another series?

Rumours coming out of TV-land in the States suggest a fourth spin-off from the popular crime show will go into production in 2005.

However, the President of NBC America Jeff Zucker won't give specifics on what brand of law and/or order the latest incarnation would cover.

"With regards to the fourth edition, it's a pretty unique twist on the franchise and it's significantly different from any of the first three," he told the media.

"As we've said all along, these are four different shows, each unique. 'SVU' is as different from 'Law & Order' as 'Criminal Intent' is as different from 'SVU' as any of the other procedural crime dramas anywhere else."

"This franchise is hotter than it's ever been," he insists.

Law And Order is currently one of Channel Ten’s highest rating programs, riding a tidal wave of popular crime shows airing this year on Australian television.
