Hugh gives a Jack about scary monsters
There's a new trailer for Universal's Van Helsing online now at the Apple website – you'll find a handy link below. I've wondered if this flick would be a little too cheesy, but the latest preview looks great! I like director Stephen Sommers and you can't go wrong with Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale. Much like Sommers's The Mummy and The Mummy Returns, Van Helsing takes a mildly tongue-in-cheek approach to horror-action, but it looks all good!

Jackman plays the legendary monster hunter from Bram Stoker's Dracula. Here he takes center stage in his ongoing battle to rid the world of evil creatures. On the order of a secret society, Van Helsing travels to Transylvania to bring down Count Dracula (played by Richard Roxbough). There he joins forces with the fearless Anna Valerious (Kate Beckinsale), out to rid her family of a generations-old curse by defeating the vampire.

The film also stars Shuler Hensley as Dr. Frankenstein's misunderstood monster; Will Kemp as Velkan, Anna's stalwart brother who transforms under the full moon into the Wolf Man; Kevin J. O'Connor as Dr. Frankenstein's loyal yet treacherous assistant, Igor; David Wenham as Carl, a friar entrusted with ensuring Van Helsing's safe return; and Elena Anaya, Silvia Colloca and Josie Maran as Dracula's three bloodthirsty brides who will stop at nothing to help their master in his plan to subvert human civilization and rule over a world of havoc, fear and darkness.
