Hey Hey Hey!
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Saturday Night Live's Kenan Thompson will star as Fat Albert for 20th Century Fox and Davis Entertainment. The long-in-development pic, which mixes live-action and animation, begins filming in L.A. mid-April under the direction of Joel Zwick.

Other cast members reportedly include "Omarion of B2K fame as Reggie, Raven-Symone (That's So Raven) in the animated part of Danielle, Jermaine Williams (ER) as Mush Mouth, Jeremy Suarez (Brother Bear) in the animated role of Russell and Aaron Frazier as Weird Harold."

THR reveals that the pic "follows Fat Albert and his posse of friends, who come to life when they walk out of the cartoon and into the real world. The film will start with animation, move into live-action and end in the animated world."

Creator Bill Cosby co-wrote the screenplay with Charles Kipps and will also serve as producer.

Kenan Thompson's credits include Nickelodeon's Kenan and Kel, Barbershop 2: Back in Business, Love Don't Cost a Thing, Good Burger and All That.
