Australian viewers are turning to TV documentaries like never before.

Approximately 1.5 million people switched on Seven’s World Around Us special on lions, and ABC’s Seven Wonders Of The Industrial World (which scored even bigger numbers just last Sunday).

But it was Nine who again took victory in the latest Oztam ratings – without a documentary in sight. It’s old favourites CSI and National Nine News pushed the network to yet another stunning win.

The national top 20 shows were:

1 CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION, Channel 9 - 2,006,826 viewers
2 NATIONAL NINE NEWS SUNDAY, Channel 9 - 1,931,112 viewers
3 LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT, Channel TEN - 1,725,361 viewers
4 CSI: MIAMI, Channel 9 - 1,687,386 viewers
5 60 MINUTES, Channel 9 - 1,626,843 viewers
6 WITHOUT A TRACE, Channel 9 - 1,600,599 viewers
7 THE BLOCK, Channel 9 - 1,574,185 viewers
8 WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE, Channel 9 - 1,551,207 viewers
9 W.A.U: HEART OF A LIONESS, Channel 7 - 1,541,681 viewers
10 NATIONAL NINE NEWS, Channel 9 - 1,508,124 viewers
11 LAW AND ORDER: SVU, Channel TEN - 1,502,031 viewers
12 SEVEN WONDERS OF THE INDUSTRIAL WORLD-EV, Channel ABC - 1,499,011 viewers
13 NATIONAL NINE NEWS SATURDAY, Channel 9 - 1,480,661 viewers
14 E.R., Channel 9 - 1,476,448 viewers
15 SEVEN NEWS - SUN, Channel 7 - 1,447,840 viewers
16 LAW AND ORDER: SVU RPT, Channel TEN - 1,419,053 viewers
17 SEVEN NEWS, Channel 7 - 1,415,705 viewers
18 BIG BROTHER - THE SECRET'S OUT, Channel TEN - 1,397,187 viewers
19 BIG BROTHER LIVE EVICTION, Channel TEN - 1,387,611 viewers
20 FRIENDS - THE ONES THEY LOVE, Channel 9 - 1,382,276 viewers

The national primetime share was:

ABC - 14.5%, Seven - 21.4%, Nine - 26.4%, Ten - 21.0%, SBS - 4.1%, Pay TV - 9.6%
