Local documentary to screen on WIN Television Author: WIN Television | Jan 9, 2008, 11:42 |
Local documentary Telling Tails - the story of the Animal Welfare League - will air on WIN Television on Sunday, January 13 at 5.30pm.
Hosted by News weather presenter MELODY HORRILL, Telling Tails is the behind-the-scenes story of what happens to abandoned, unwanted and lost animals if they're lucky enough to be given a second chance by the Animal Welfare League - the state's largest animal shelter.
They're our friends and loyal companions and an important part of our lives - but sometimes animals find themselves in trouble, often when owners don't act responsibly.
Since its inception the Animal Welfare League has cared for approx 400,000 animals - a huge accomplishment for a non-profit organisation which receives no government funding - relying on community donations and more than 500 caring local volunteers. Telling Tails this is their story.
