Classic Top Gear returns to
Top Gear Series Two welcomes the arrival of the man with the hair, James May, whose addition to the program was the catalyst to producing the intoxicating chemistry between the hosts. The infamous trio of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May was born, skyrocketing Top Gear into British entertainment royalty and courting millions of fans across the globe.
Highlights for Series Two include car buying tips for those with more sense than money, the team attempt to break the land speed record while towing a caravan, Top Gear takes a look at the future of car design and stage a race to decide the fastest evil megalomaniac in the universe.
Episode 1 – Monday 25 August,
Jeremy introduces his great new idea - the Love/Hate Board and Richard takes the best and indestructible off-road car, the Bowler Wildcat, for a spin. Jeremy compares the small convertible Volkswagen Beetle Cabrio, Ford StreetKa and Smart Roadster and the guys use a jet car to set fire to the worst car ever made. James May shows what stylish classic car you could buy for the same price as a Ford Mondeo and actor and former footballer, Vinnie Jones (Snatch, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) is the Star in the Reasonably Priced Car.
Episode 2 – Monday 1 September,
On a luxury themed Top Gear, Jeremy takes a look at the Rolls Royce Phantom and compares the Audi S4 and BMX M3. Richard drives the classic and stylish “Gentlemen’s Club on Wheels” - the Rover P5 and Top Gear invites politicians for a hot lap shoot out with the winner getting Top Gear’s vote for the next election. Celebrity chef, Jamie Oliver, is the Star in the Reasonably Priced Car and is set the challenge of preparing a salad in the back of his VW camper van while The Stig races it around the test track.
