Just when you thought it was safe to turn on the TV, he’s back – after a month on the sidelines Sam Newman, television’s most controversial performer, returns to the helm of The Footy Show tonight on Nine.

Sam joins Garry Lyon, James Brayshaw and Trevor Marmalade for all the latest news and entertainment from the world of AFL on what promises to be the biggest edition of The Footy Show yet in 2008.

In a Footy Show exclusive, Garry Lyon goes head-to-head with disgraced Brownlow medallist Ben Cousins, who speaks about his drug recovery and reveals his future football plans.

Tiger favourite Matthew Richardson is joined by Geelong’s Cameron Mooney and Bomber Mark McVeigh on an all-star panel.

Nine’s AFL Editor Craig Hutchison comes armed with all the latest breaking news and issues.

We preview all eight games of weekend footy, looking at the ins and outs for each club.

Plus the long-awaited return of Sam’s Mailbag, and Footy Show favourite Almost Football Legends.
