Showtime's newcomer, Californication, has got off to a raging start in the US.

The new series staring David Duchovny has received rave reviews and is being touted as the "best new TV show in years".

Californication is Showtime's best scripted comedy debut ever, debuting on Monday 13 August at 10:30 p.m.

TEN's chief programming officer said: "It's still early days but reports suggest that Californication is going to be a major hit.

In true TEN style, the show is daring, risky and bound to attract a lot of viewer interest."

Californication is classified MA - for mature viewers only. It debuts on TEN on Monday 27th August at 9.45 p.m. with a first-episode encore on Sunday 2nd September.

The show continues in its Monday 9.30 p.m. timeslot from 3 September.
