Tatiana vaults herself out of Dancing with the Stars
  Author: Seven Network | Mar 28, 2007, 08:00

Olympic pole vaulter TATIANA GRIGORIEVA is the latest celebrity to depart from Seven’s hit variety program.

TATIANA and her dance partner BRENDAN HUMPHREYS cha cha’ed their way out of the competition despite a sexy routine to the classic “Fever” and a total score of 54.

“It was an amazing journey and a chance to experience something that I have never done before. I did everything I could and Brendan was an amazing teacher and friend. I would like to thank the judges for their comments although they were sometimes tough,” said Tatiana.

Tatiana’s charity Camp Quality will also benefit from her time on the show. “Camp Quality does an amazing job helping kids with cancer and hopefully my time on the show will help them out,” Tatiana stated.

In an Australian first, the celebrities embraced disco inferno, performing and being judged on a group disco dance as well as an individual couple dance. The disco theme allows the celebrities to show off their dance moves without adhering to the strict rules governing traditional latin and ballroom dancing.

TIM CAMPBELL and NATALIE LOWE, received an almost perfect score of 39 for their explosive tango and a combined score (including disco) of 73, making them the top performing couple. DAVID GRAHAM and ELIZA CAMPAGNA again ranked last with the lowest score ever on DANCING WITH THE STARS, a four for their Gladiator themed paso doble, and a combined score of 28. With all the couples performing disco, FIFI BOX performed a foxtrot (31) and came in second with a total score of 61, KATE CEBERANO danced a waltz (30) and received a combined score of 60 and JAMIE DURIE’s quickstep (25) and disco was awarded a total score of 59.

Through to the next round is television singer KATE CEBERANO, radio announcer FIFI BOX, actor TIM CAMPBELL, farmer/reality contestant DAVID GRAHAM and TV presenter and landscape designer JAMIE DURIE.

If you want to ensure your favourite couple makes it through to the Grand Final of DANCING WITH THE STARS, SMS the first name of your celebrity to 19 19 77, or phone the following numbers:

Next week in the special, DANCING WITH THE STARS – THE FINAL COUNTDOWN, SONIA KRUGER will talk to the five remaining celebrities to discover their tactics and discuss their highs and lows during the competition.

The next LIVE episode of DANCING WITH THE STARS will air on Tuesday April 10 at 7.30pm when another celebrity is eliminated.
