| Special Promotion |

UMM four wheel drive: Uniao Metalo Mecanica Ltda, Rua das Flores, 71 - 1200 Lisbon Portugal.

in .pt
Taken at Portimao, Portugal, September, 2000 - Sampsa Vires

History:

The UMM four wheel drive design is derived from a previous design from France called the Cournil. This was developed by a French farmer who recognised the need for an all purpose vehicle. This explains the fact that some of the parts are of French origin. The engine and transmission are from Peugeot, the heater is a Renault part and the switches and instruments are also from Peugeot.

Many Umms are in use by utilities in Spain and Portugal and are also in use by Police, Fire service and military. They are also popular in France. A few hundred (estimate) have been sold in the UK and there is a small owners club with around 60 members.

The model line started with the TRANSCAT which was replaced in the mid eighties by the most popular model the ALTER (known in some areas as the ALFOR). This has been revised to become the ALTER II.

Holden Astra Convertible Turbo(Highly recommended sports car), from $49,990
This European convertible is a stunning car in so many ways. It's a great drive (with high performance 147kw Turbo). It's practical and apart from a small boot has abundant room for 4 or 5 at a pinch. It's loaded with standard features: air, power windows / steer, cruise, 6 speaker CD, ABS, traction control, airbags & more. It also looks great! My Managing Director's lovely wife owns one of these & I have no hesitation in recommending this car to you. A true bargain for a high performance Euro Convertible.
