Four Wheel Drive

Range Rover 1998

| Special Promotion |

New for 1998 is an "entry level" Range Rover, the Range Rover 4.0 at a mere 80,000. Not exactly a hose-out four-wheel drive, this is still quite comfortable and meant to bridge the gap between the more expensive Rangies and the top of the Discovery range.

1998 also brought some serious oposition to the up-market Range Rovers in the shape of the Mercedes M-class and the (Toyota) Lexus LX470.

Range Rover 4.0 1998

This 1998 Range Rover Autobiography was brought to Cooma '98 by Alto Land Rover of NSW.

They took the 150K demonstrator for a spin in the Motorkhana. Upper: the air-suspension pumped up to the maximum height. Lower: kneeling with suspension on a low setting.

The Land Rover Roadshow has been doing the rounds and carries a cut-away Range Rover (right) which gives a good view of the transmission, transfer-case and drive shafts, exhaust system, also the air-bag height-adjustable suspension.
