Land Rover
Defender four wheel drives come in two main model lines:
the D90 on a 92.9" wheel-base and
the D110 on a 110" wheel-base.
A variety of body-styles is available:
soft-top, ute (tray), hard-top (van), station-wagon.
The extra-long wheel-base D130
(127" wheel-base)
comes with various bodies, including a crew-cab with a tray at the rear.
All Land Rover Defenders use coil suspension and disc brakes all round,
and have full-time four wheel drive.
Defenders were originally available with
the 3.5L V8 and with 2.5L 4-cyl petrol and diesel engines.
(Early Australian units also had Isuzu 4BD1 3.9L diesels factory-fitted.)
Since late 1994,
only the 2.5L `300' Tdi (turbo-charged direct injection)
diesel has been offered, except for special orders.
1998/99:
The 2.5 litre 5-cylinder turbo charged diesel Td5 engine became
the standard engine in Land Rover Defenders in most markets.
Holden Astra Convertible Turbo(Highly recommended sports car), from $49,990
This European convertible is a stunning car in so many ways. It's a great drive (with high performance 147kw Turbo). It's practical and apart from a small boot has abundant room for 4 or 5 at a pinch. It's loaded with standard features: air, power windows / steer, cruise, 6 speaker CD, ABS, traction control, airbags & more. It also looks great! My Managing Director's lovely wife owns one of these & I have no hesitation in recommending this car to you. A true bargain for a high performance Euro Convertible.
