GMC Jimmy

| Special Promotion |

This is my '72 GMC Jimmy. It's completely original, save for some minor engine modifications. It lives with me in Missoula MT. The pic' with the snow was on a recent trip down to Moab Utah, a popular off-road area.

This is my second Jimmy and my sixth GM 4X4. It has a 350 V-8, Eldebrock 4-bbl carb and aluminum intake, 4-speed trans with granny low gear, posi-trac rear differential and Blackjack headers

Standard motor is a 250 ci (4.1L) inline six. This one came with the optional 350ci (5.7L) V-8 and 4Bbl carb'. Transmissions are 3-speed manual, 3-speed automatic and 4-speed manual wide-ratio. The top, as you can see, is removable and reveals a relatively comfortable interior, no spraying off the dash with a garden hose!
top The drive-train is simply that of a Chevrolet / GMC 1/2 ton truck, as is most of the body, and is interchangable for a wide range of years. Other popular options are: power steering, power brakes Discs in front after 1971, air conditioning, positrac axles from 4.11-3.00 to 1 ratios, towing packages, high altitude packages, hot climate packages, AM/FM 8-Track players. Back in the "good old days" you would order a vehicle from the factory using a checklist for options, paint / interior colors and drive-trains. As a result many American vehicles from that era are quite unique. Today options are much more bundled. If, say, you want a sunroof, you must also get the V-6, auto' trans and air conditioning ... but auto companies have been telling us what we want to drive for quite some time now.
