Aviation fire and rescue tender 5F052, build #FSV101 with a 4.6 litre Land Rover TVR-spec' V8 engine. It features ARB air-lockers on both rear axles. The modular design allows several variants to be produced. Performance tests were carried out on 25 May 2000 - Peter Bradley 25/5/2000

The Ibex parentage is obvious, but the 6x6 just goes on and on compared to the normal model.

2000, May 14: First photographs of the Firefly Special Vehicles type 66 multi-role fire vehicle. The vehicle is due to be released for trials and demonstrations within the next ten days, prior to it departing for its official launch at Intershutz 2000. The vehicle has a busy schedule in the next 10 days going through various tests including speed, acceleration and general handling trials at Elvington Aerodrome near York on 25th May. The vehicle goes off to Serco Internationals training facility at Teeside Airport 2nd June to do its proving trials and returns there again on 7th for demonstrations to fire officers from various airports. The vehicle departs 15th June for Germany calling at a few stops en-route.

1999: Introducting "Ibex Firefly 66", the most flexible vehicle now on the market. Options include 2,3 or 4 door cab. Aviation unit, domestic unit, rescue tender, chemical unit, evacuation unit. What do you want or need. Lockers where you want them as big or small as you want them. Pump where you want it if you want one. Suction or not? Full off-road performance, 6x6, gvw 4.75 tons. Basic 4.6 litre V8 engine but many options available. Performance includes 0-50 in less than 25 seconds at gvw. Top speed in excess of 75mph. Off-road who can touch a member of the Ibex family with 85 degrees approach and 53 degrees departure angles.
