Taxis (above) in Judge Dredd were based on Land Rover FC101s. This was taken at Billing.

Judge Dredd is set in the crumbling 22nd-century MegaCity-1 which has a strong resemblance to the BladeRunner set. That's where the taxi's come in, you must need four wheel drive to cope with decaying infra-structure.

The taxi's are based on Land Rover forward control 101"s. FC101's were originally produced for the British army and were also bought by some other armed forces; most have now been pensioned off. The film's taxis were created by adding fibre-glass bodywork.

Back in the film - it's the usual, Sylvester Stallone grunts his way through the dialogue between shooting people. As chase and shoot 'em up movies go, it's average.
