Today's Audi A4 to A8 Quattro's and the other Audi all wheel drives
are descended from Audi's rally cars of the 1980's.
The Audi Quattro
shook up international rallying
when it brought four wheel drive to the sport in 1981.
The 1985 model (right)
belongs to the Nat'l Motor Museum (UK).
History: 1899:
August Horch began a car company carrying his own surname in 1899. 1910:
When he left that company to start afresh at Zwickau, Germany, he
"translated his last name, which means ``hark!''
or ``listen!'' into Latin, ``Audi''." 1932: Audi became part of Auto-Union,
with DKW, Horch and Wanderer. 1933: Audi built front-wheel drive cars. 1949: The Soviet Union took Auto Union AG after WWII,
so Auto Union GmbH was established at Ingolstadt,
later becoming Audi AG. 1965: New model called `Audi' appears, and
Volswagen AG
acquire the company.

Holden Astra Convertible Turbo(Highly recommended sports car), from $49,990
This European convertible is a stunning car in so many ways. It's a great drive (with high performance 147kw Turbo). It's practical and apart from a small boot has abundant room for 4 or 5 at a pinch. It's loaded with standard features: air, power windows / steer, cruise, 6 speaker CD, ABS, traction control, airbags & more. It also looks great! My Managing Director's lovely wife owns one of these & I have no hesitation in recommending this car to you. A true bargain for a high performance Euro Convertible.
