Conditions:

1) Only one video per person permitted.
2) You must NOT reveal your entry or your votes to anybody but Sillygostly.
3) You may submit virtually any video from YouTube or similar video sites. Embeddable videos are encouraged, but not mandatory.
4) If the content of your video contains excessive thematic, violent, coarse, nude, sexual or drug content, then you may need to provide an edited alternative for those who do not wish to view such material. Consult Sillygostly if you're unsure about the content of your video. In most cases, the uncut version will still be eligible for viewing.
5) All entrants are expected to vote. Entrants who fail to vote within a reasonable timeframe may have their ranking lowered in accordance with how they may have fared if they had voted.
6) In the event that you are unable to vote, you are allowed to nominate an understudy to vote on your behalf (bearing in mind that the understudy cannot vote for you; and the voter will be identified by their own username). This voter cannot be someone who is competing in the contest.
7) Once the videos are revealed, you must then submit your votes (this is done by ranking each video in order of your most to least favourite, excluding your own) to Sillygostly via private message.

Considering these upcoming changes, I think our upcoming grand finale will also be our last (and this may be followed by a full blown series finale which will see our 3 grand finale winners pitted against each other in a final farewell). These were really popular when I was in the 5th and 6th grade.  You'de start off reading the book and it would be story telling you what you're doing and what you're seeing and descriptive.  I don't think it was ever complex enough to have much character development but the idea is that when you got to the end of a page (some of them longer than others) you'de be presented with 2 or more choices and for example:
"blah blah blah and you feel like dancing.
If you listen to Lady Gaga, turn to page 78.
If you listen to Metallica, turn to page 3.
If you listen to Cher, turn to  to page 12."

Obviously this isn't something where on a forum we can have set things that will happen, however it does provide the opportunity for anyone to follow loosely along a hopefully somewhat coherent story and then leave the next person to post with two or more options that they can take.  They would then write, long or short, their contribution with it being at least very slightly relevant to the option they chose, and then end it with a set of two or more options for the next person.  This doesn't work near as well as the books, but I thought it might be an interesting thread for a change.

I know we've had "make up story" threads before.  If we're lucky then this format will be more successful despite there being few people here.  The appeal for me is not being restricted to just a few words and also being able to only type just a few words if I woud so choose.

I'll kick off a story in the next post.  Lets keep each other out of the story by the way.  I know I'll be tempted to write poetry about Dara and I'm sure no one is interested.  I might also get upset with someone and write it in and again I doubt anyone would want that included either.  So assuming the thread doesn't go the way of the second page of the forum, lets keep it impersonal to each other.

Peekaboo! It's time for the announcement of the eBlah Video Song Contest Grand Finale 2009! In this special edition of the phenomenally niche contest, those who have won at least one of the primary contests throughout the year are eligible for participation as a finalist, and are each entitled to enter one video for every contest that the have won, whereas those who haven't won or participated before may vote as jurors.

As the poster indicates, the theme is Celebration, and may be interpreted in any way that our finalists see fit. You may choose a video which celebrates a cultural/religious occasion, one's life, a relationship, a triumphant feat, a political/ideological shift etc.

You may submit your videos to Sillygostly by Christmas Day at the latest. Sillygostly and his subsidiary personalities shall not be held accountable if the contest is held sooner than that. The contest will kick off sometime in December with the results released by mid-late January.
