Im a fan of facebook right now. At first i was into myspace, but ever since i joined facebook, i find myspace annoying, especially when people have so much stuff on their profiles. I like the applications you can add on facebook!!!

I have a facebook and a myspace, and I must say I enjoy facebook a lot more, I find it easier to use, and I like the way it shows detailed friend updates as well. This makes life a lot easier when trying to keep track of what friends from interstate, overseas etc. are up to, because you may not check their page frequently, but facebook will notify you when they update something. I also think its better because its easier to find people you know. The search feature on myspace very rarely comes up with the right person, but facebook operates on full names, so it is very accurate. plus, as shawty said, its irritating when people have heaps of random crap blaring from their myspace profile.

I'm a Bebo fan myself although I have Myspace and Facebook. I find Bebo is more user friendly and you are able to customise your pages easier and it comes with updates on your friends and the applications that have been recently added to Bebo are similar to the ones on Facebook. Personally I think Facebook is the worst out of the three, I used the search function once, it found who I wanted and then wanted me to sign in once signed in I had to go searching again used the same search terms and the person didn't come up.

MySpace hands down... Although I like Facebook, there are just to many applications that I just don't care about (no I don't want to be a warewolf or play Scrabulous thanks). MySpace is also improving, they now have friend up-dates similar to Facebook and you can personalise your home page.

I'm developing an Australian TV Guide app for facebook - will show the daily highlights. Will let you know when it's finished..
MySpace is opening up itself to app development too - just announced recently. So, expect lots of gizmo's on there too.
cheers,
Glen

I hate facebook, although I found some old friends and it's a good time killer. But I don't care what my friends friends are doing!!
It is so confusing!
Myspaz is much better, although it could do without the skanky 12 year olds.

That is so true. i hate how there are young girls on myspace who try to look older than they are and 'sex' up their image!

I've never even been to myspace I don't think. I didn't know what it was. A little late on them opening up the application things. I don't really like it. I don't use my own page very much but use it to look at other people's profiles especially overseas folks. My wife keeps her page updated so that's good enough for pictures for the both of us and our daughter.
I'm really annoyed that Facebook has taken over email, and I'm also a little annoyed at the exhibitionist stupidity of it all. For example, I don't like that when my wife's cousin was planning to be at a barbeque with us that she wrote on my wall, "Looking forward to seeing you tonight" because it's just another way of her saying "Look at me! Look at me everyone, Looky Looky! I totally have a life outside of the life you think I have which makes me like way more happening than you thought I was." As far as taking over email, it's sort of annoying to sign into your email and find that someone left you something on facebook that would have been easier sent by email. Easier for me to get to anyway. Lastly, some things I think are just better handled with a phone call. I know people who say "Oh wait... before we leave did you check your facebook?" because that's where their friends might contact them for a change of plans.
I haven't figured out the commercial advantage of lots of those applications so I assume many are spyware driven.
I still use it despite all my complaints. My page actually used to have a really long explanation of how I didn't like the site when I started my page... restarted it actually. I had one but then deleted it and changed my name to something that didn't have my surname in it.
I had later met a guy who's friend is a software engineer at the time working on a facebook crawler and they were working on putting together marketing with facial recognition on facebook. I don't understand how that's really doable unless someone allows it by adding an application, but that was the claim. I didn't like the idea of it. The conversation went straight into potential employers having access to people's personal lives and marketing ethics and laws being broken.
Like I said though, I use it and it does have it's uses. I searched my high school and found a girlfriend I had in year 6. I never talked to her in High School but apparently we had heaps of the same friends, just at differant times is all. It's a small world because she's living with a guy I knew from High School and used to see all the time, but halfway accross the country from where we all went to school, and that they bumped into each other was an oddity.
That was fun for a short while, then I realized while chatting with her on MSN that I don't really like her all that much. She sort of annoys me.

I agree with most of your points MeanDean.
Facebook is a fantastic utility for re-acquinting with friends that you have not heard of in many years, or had thought just fell off the end of the earth.
On the other hand, reading what people are doing (such as - so and so just ate a hamburger, so and so just got back from the gym, so and so just did a fart etc.) is not really my cup of tea. But each to their own.
I have never used MySpace all that much - I don't have a page at all on that site.

lol, just did a fart.
I forgot about that part. I try to make mine imaginative like "Dean ...a retired Elf suing his former employer" or stupid stuff like that.
I think I'm going to go write on people's walls "Write on my wall". You've inspired me Glen (tounge)

I joined Facebook last evening. I have had a MySpace account for over a year and don’t really use it. My son and daughter are on Facebook as are a few of my friends from in here. :D

I don't like these social networking sites. They get very boring after 2 months and I'm sick of following the COOL crowd. ;)

I used to go on myspace more, but lately I've kind of gravitated towards facebook. More people are finally getting it so that's good. And the status updates etc are easier. And the quizzes are good for days like today when you're dreadfully bored :P

I've never liked Myspace. It's not very user friendly, and it's just not worth the effort IMO.
I'm surprised with the popularity of Facebook though. I can virtually find anyone on there. ??) (no pun intended)
I used to prefer Bebo, but Facebook seems to be a more versatile option. I don't really use any of its applications though. :-/

I hate most of the apps but some are pretty fun (eg Likeness quizzes) :D Good time killers. But I know, pretty much everyone I used to know in USA is on there, NZ and Aus are a bit behind though.
I don't like bebo much, it's kind of confusing I think, and I can never remember my password :P
I think I still have one though......
wow, i was on 978 days ago :O
oh god, *changes about me*
OMG all the photos are from grade 8 or 9!! Nothing shows up though :S
