OK guys, here's your first look at The Biggest Loser 2

As I reported late last year, Ten will make a big deal of the special Weigh-In, moving it to Sunday nights.

The Biggest Loser 2 - Moving In will air on Sunday Feb 4th - so not too long to go!

This year there will be 4 trainers working simultanously - who will be seen throughout the series - so it's not as if Bob & Jillian and going to buzz off forever. The two new Aussie trainers are Michelle Bridges and Shannon Ponton, and yes, they are very easy on the eye! See pics in the next post.

The weekly schedule will go as follows:

Sunday Weigh-In
Monday Elimination
Tuesday Minor Challenge
Wednesday Temptation
Thursday - The Walk
Friday Major Challenge

And of course the whole week will be filled with all of the tears, sweat and fly-on-the-wall stuff we so loved about last year.

Anyway, here at the contestants for 2007. I've labelled them with their names and will try and give full descriptions when I get time:

Hi guys, wanted to mention that we will be hosting a weekly Podcast (online radio show) on the new season of Biggest Loser called 'Chew The Fat' (good huh!). We have just completed a season discussing Australian Idol. We figured if we have all these people listening why not continue. More importantly why not try to help people make changes in their own lives by providing information, discussion and entertainment via the medium of Podcasting.

We have been lucky enough to have gained the support and inclusion of Sandy Frazer, food coach and bestselling author of the Livin Lite recipe books. In fact as part of this Podcast she will be assisting me with my own weight loss (gulp). What I hope this will do is resolve the biggest issue with this show - how does a person who works full time and has other interests actually lose weight?

Also - we are in the process of interviewing some of the guys from the last season including winner Adro! They have been so kind to do this.

This is a free fan Podcast, we do not make any money from this at all.

We would love to hear from those of you who attempted to get on the show plus would love you to join me (host Ganesha) in following Sandys programme to try and lost weight along with the new contestants. We can look out for each other.

Damn straight, when your that size do you really need a TV show to get some weight off? Get off your @rse and stop shoving donuts in. One guy on the ad says something like "I saw photos of myself and was discusted!" Obviously never owned a mirror!

I know I don't see how they could get that fat, if I started getting that fat I would stop being lazy and excercise.. luckily I don't gain much weight though :D
But still, its a good show.

If it's genetic (which seems to be the reason these days, not the large pizza and diet coke for lunch) running around for a few weeks infront of the 10 camera it going to do SFA because they are just going to put the wait back on, because it's genetic. Get it

It could and can be medical with some people. I know it is with me, although I am not as large as most of those on the TV.

:'(Yeah, I love people who have never had a fat day in their lives,or ever struggled with a weight problem, judging people who are large. Those who are thin are lauded by society and those who are not are perceived as weak charactered, dumb and lazy. Weight problems, from anorexia to obesity, are complex emotional, physical and psychological issues that cannot be dismissed so simply. The real test of the Biggest Loser is after the massive struggle to drop the weight can the loss be maintained? That is the real challenge for those predisposed to weight gain. :'(

I am not on anyones side but.. how can you reach 200+ kg by genetics?? Maybe your family raised you on 1 pizza each + soda etc etc every night or something.. but that isnt genetics. i'm not talking overweight I know sometimes you cant help that.. I mean like hugely overweight, and if they lose it on TBL it cant be medical can it.....

How fat are you talking though? Above or below 100kg? I know someone thats fattish but would only weigh like 70 or 80. that is genetic. but i'd say very very few people get morbidly obese due to genetics.

As said previously by someone far more intelligent than I, genetics has only so much to blame...

These people appearing on this program are grossly overweight because of poor dietary habits & couch potato lifestyles, not genetics...

Otherwise what is the use of them losing the weight? If they can at all, as far as I understand with genetic disposition to obesity.

Does anyone know if the elimination episodes that air on Mondays will still be an hour this year? With there being a 1hr weigh-in on Sunday now, I was just wondering if they will bother with an hour elimination show aswell?

I'm assuming that the weekday shows will all be 30 minutes in length (unless there's a "special" episode of sorts), and the Sunday shows are likely to be an hour long. An hour-long show on Mondays or even Fridays would be an overkill considering the extra episode that Ten have added to the line-up.

Although genetics does play a roll in some people's weight gain, I think the main reason many people reach such a massive weight is because depression sets in and it becomes a case of "everyone thinks I'm useless and a waste of time because I'm fat...therefore why bother trying to improve myself? I'm not worth it. I'll just hide away so no one has to deal with me instead".
They distance themselves from everything because they're taunted by society (and mostly their own low self esteem) and end up massively overweight. With no will to lose it.

As someone mentioned earlier, it's in the same catagory as anorexia...it's in the mind. Fix the mind and you fix the body.

I don't like the look of the new trainers...I suppose I'll get use to them. But I'll miss Jillian...she was great. I hope she actually does play a big role in the show.

I think people like to play the 'genetics' card however genetics plays a minimal role in someones propensity to put on weight, I think it makes up something like 22% and the rest is lack of exercise and food choices. There are however certain medical conditions that can play a huge role in weight gain.

Dara, there are many complex psychological reasons why people
a) put on weight and
b) can't lose it.

Not just depression, as Cassiepeia suggests, that may set in later, but any number of events in a persons life which affects their self-confidence, or self belief. You are lucky if you have not experienced any of these events or had people in your life who have devalued you in any way.

There is also a condition called matabolic syndrome, where the body does not process insulin (the fat storing hormone) properly, so you just get fatter and fatter. While this is caused IN PART by eating too many sugars (and all carbohydrate foods such as breads, rices and cereals are turned to simple sugars in the body) by the time you realise it is happening you have a big problem.

Beleive me, I've been there so I know. I have lost 30 kgs from a 131 start and have 35 to go. Doing it much slower than the TBL folk but don't depsise them for their size. It belittles you to be so intolerant, not them. AT least they are trying to do something positive.

very true Dara, but as someone passing me on the street, can you tell whether I am trying or not, can you tell that I've lost or gained weight in the past six months.... ?

You can either judge me according to a set of assumptions that may or may not apply to me or you can choose to empathise and hope that I can improve my situation and send me some positive vibes!

Good for you! That is a hell of an accomplishment. My son lost 70 plus kilo over 18 months between the ages of 18 and 20! He is now 22 and has kept it off. He was over 24st/153kg! Losing it slowly is better in the long run because it gives you skin time to shrink with you and it gives your body time to adjust. My son had no excess skin left over when he was done but look at Adro... he needed skin surgically removed to look 'normal' again and that is for two reasons. One: he lost the weight too rapidly' and Two: he didn't work out like Big Wal did and continues to do so.
I am overweight because of medical probs as well as lack of decent exercise. I eat very healthily and follow the good food guidelines. I also eat yoghurt once or twice a day with fruit added and Flaxseed oil and grapeseed oils added by me, to it, because they are a huge source of Omega3's for my good health. Not every one who is fat/obese stuffs their face with unhealthy foods all the day long. The clip that makes me sad in the promo for the Biggest Loser 2 is the woman who says 'I know my husband would not of had an affair if I had not gotten so fat' or something along those lines. Excuse me.... you poor woman. Your husband doesn't deserve you at all if he strayed looking for sex/contact elsewhere. Great lot of support she has had. Get slimmer honey and give your cheating husband the boot!

I agree completely. When I first saw that promo I thought that her sleazy husband would've cheated on her anyway. It would be EXTREMELY sad if she hadn't yet divorced him. ??)

I live by the rule that we are all responsible for ourselves. Now this woman may have been so insecure and bottled up that she was giving no energy or heart to their marriage or herself, and while his reaction to this was just weak and stupid, it was obviously because as a couple they were not talking it through. He was likely suffering in the lead up to this action and didnt have the tools to deal with it positively. As far as im concerned both of them are victims of their own making. Tough but true.

It's on now. I think I like the asian dude and the red head and a couple of the other guys so far. And a few of the girls were ok as well. I don't know names yet!!

Well seeing as he's an old friend of mine... I'm cheering for "the asian dude" as Dara called him LOL ...Alex, ;) although I think Greg (the greek dude) is going to be a contender...

Did AJ annoy anyone else with her constant slow talking? gah we don't have to talk as slow as the Americans do... we don't normally anyway!

And how dumb was it that they didn't show us which teams Bob & Jillian chose and yet they showed us all the contestants wearing their red t-shirts... as if it wasn't obvious anyway... LOL sometimes the aussie versions of US shows make me laugh because they're so B grade compared to the originals... and sometimes they are great which I'm hoping this will become, however at this rate for me anyway, it's going to be a show I'll watch if I'm around, otherwise it isn't going to bother me if I miss it, as the recaps (and replays straight after the ad breaks ::)) will catch me up anyway...

Oh, and don't get me started on how annoying those Fernwood with Kristy and Subway with Adro ads are going to become!! :o

I'm so glad that the show is finally back, I wasn't dissapointed tonight at all - The Aussie version is sooooo much better (Jillian agrees with me LOL). The Fernwood adds were a little annoying but we didn't get any Subway adds here, we havn't got the new indents either... what happens in them? Are they on YouTube yet? :P

No they can't. They'll never be able to eat like a 'normal' person again. For the rest of their lives they'll be thinking about what they can and can't have and trying to balance everything so they don't have too much of something and not enough of something else.
I say have a last 'pig out' and then say good bye to it all. You may be able to have a handful of cheezels occasionally, but you'll never be able to eat the whole packet again.

With all due respect that is simply not true. Some people out there do love to say things like "you never stop craving cigarettes after you quit" but who decided that is true for every person. I havent craved one once since i quit. Some people like to hang on that that pain or that belief but frankly, if you dont control your own mind then who does?

To those trying to lose weight, please dont think that this comment is true for all people because it isnt. Humans adjust, if you do it right then you wont have to think about what you are eating.

I have never watched TBL from the first episode so it was all new to me when I did, last night. I felt positively slim (eventhough I could do with losing 30kg) in comparison to the competitors. Bravo to them for being on the show and baring their bodies and souls to us. The largest guy is almost 34 stone. :o I love Alex (the Asian/Chinese guy) and think he has a wonderful personality. I think it odd that the large guys have better odds of still having a marriage and the large girls don't, just from observation. Either the girls are single because their partners left them or no-one wants to date them and that sad story with one of them being a very young widow :(
I think it is terribly sad that these people have been almost abandoned by society because they don't fit into the mold. I could never of stuffed myself at that feast. It almost made me ill, also. I probably would of gone for some chicken. I don't eat sweeties, desserts or snacks. We must remember as someone else said, this is all contractural and they would have directions to follow, undoubtably. I think Shannon is a young man who has a pretty healthy ego. I wont say 'full of himself' coz I've not seen enough of him to know, yet. The other trainers.... I like their personalities. Some of the promos look funny with some of the contestants getting cranky etc! I wouldn't of been able to do one push up let alone 10! 11 weeks to lose so much weight is way too rapid and there will be a lot of left over skin that will need to be dealt with. I thought AJ was still a little on the large side, especially her hips and bum, but who am I to critisize? I want to see them ALL reach their healthy goal weight. ;)

AJ was way bigger by the end of last season though lol.

I know it kind of is a unfair comp, guys will win, like Fiona would never have been able to win :( lol.

But yeah, they may as well have had a little bit to eat you can't starve yourself, but some of them were being gross. And you would want to eat lots as a strategy as well I think.. possibly.

I don't really like the new trainers I wish bob and jillian would stay :( shannen is too stereotypically aussie and michelle is.... I dont know.. jillian is better!

I thought that was particularly noticable in Adro since he was only like 85kg when he won the competition. :o

Yeah he had like 2 lots of plastic surgery.

Liposuction is different to plastic surgery, Dara. ;)

They had to cut so much excess skin off him and stitch him up and it was surgery because liposuction sucks the fat out and his fat was already gone... it was his left over skin. Adro would of been better off losing the weight over a year or more and I bet he would of had NO excess skin to be surgically removed. My son was at least as big as Adro and losing the weight (70+Kg) over 18 months meant he had no left over skin to contend with. That is the risk you take with being on a show like this. Imagine all the left over skin when Damien (206kg) loses weight. He is already 50kg heavier than the next heaviest competitor (that's the weight of my adult daughter!). He has a massive task ahead of him.

To be accurate only kristie and fiona made the final fairly, since harry came back in and adro threatend law suits.

I was so excited tonight because they finally showed some more of jillian.. but it was almost a "blink and you miss it" moment. And she barely said anything! Is there a reason, (other than wanting to make the new female trainer popular) that they are leaving her in the background? I mean, she might as well not even be there.

Omg Jillian is so much better than michelle!! And is it just me or does michelle have a lump on her back??

In the challenge red made the wrong choice every time lol. I cannot believe honey ham is only 30 though , I thought it would be heaps!

Ham is very lean. Leg ham cut at home off the bone is the leanest, just don't eat the fat/rind. I lurvvvvvvvvve leg ham.
Turkey is lean too as long as you don't eat the skin! I forgot to watch tonight's TBL coz I got a phone call then I was out of routine :B

Oh my goodness.... his hair gives him away. Then 90% of the sunny coast's male population is gay! I wouldn't venture to guess if Courtney's gay or not actually. Totally agree. Short hair suits some women regardless of sexual preference (Sindi from Neighbours and Samaire Armstrong spring to mind). Although now that I think about it, I think my Uni course co-ordinator is a lesbian lol. And her fashion sense is HORRID to say the least although I wouldn't necessarily associate bad fashion sense with lesbianism lol. :P

But I suppose openly gay people feel more comfortable talking in campy accents and wearing more "colourful" clothing than straight people would. Personally, I couldn't care less what I wear or how my hair looks (as long as it's in a "fro" state lol), however there are some clothes that I absolutely refuse to wear. (My mum once bought me a tank top ??)) I'm underweight for God's sake. :P

Yes, Courtney, IMO, was a little off with the 50kg observation. My Mum (80)and daughter (30) are 50kgs each.
The weight loss in one week is staggering! A person should only aim for around 500gs per day for it to be healthy. No wonder they are left looking like a 'rolly' dog puppy (Sharpei). Their skin's elasticity is not able to keep up with that kind of weight loss! :o
I think they all should be very proud of themselves though. Why did the chick in the red team leave in the first week?

That girl left because she misses her boyfriend. ??) Yeah, I know. Her BOYFRIEND. I think she wants to keep an eye on him. :P

I actually picked them both out of the 4 women to be the ones chosen to go back in :D hehe... I think the way they show them telling us what they were thinking when it was happening (which is obviously taped later) gives it away as you can see whether they seem happy or sad!

I really like Laura so far, she seems very sweet and keen to lose weight for all the right reasons - for herself first, and then her dad. Very mature decision and reasoning for a 20 year old, impressive!

Who cares if P'eta is a lesbian or if Courtney is gay too for that matter...even if he is an annoying, immature, selfish little so-and-so imo (I could go on but won't...:P), apart from her perhaps putting a few people off on the wrong foot at the get-go for her comments regarding how she's there to win the big bucks... she seems extremely determined to win, and at least may try hard to lose the weight for that reason, if not any other. It will be interesting to see whether that determination holds her through her first couple of training sessions though! ;)

Now to see who goes on what team, my guess is P'eta on Red and Laura on Blue....

^ I think the other way round, because that is the way both teams seem to want it to go.

Oh God I hope you are right about Mel, she is my favourite too. I am a bit biased though. I met her last September when she was going through the process and was down to the final 100. I told her she would get in for sure, she is soooo lovely she has a really gentle persona and energy. What I thought was quite nasty was Munalitta's comment to Laura (before she was swapped) that she was vunerable, and would probably be voted off first! Way to help her settle in and feel welcome! Okay, can anyone explain to me, why year after year, the Blue Team seem to lack any concept of how the game works! Last year they voted out that Big guy (who did really well on his own afterward) and now they're voting off all their strongest competitors. Okay I get the reason for eliminating the girl in the first week, But Keeping Gerard?? Are the That dumb! He's the biggest slack-a** defeatist little S**t I've ever seen on this show. >:(

So what happened tonight? I was at work.

Munilita took "the walk" and turned over the stone that stated "you must vote out one of the women" and so she went back and announced the outcome of "the walk" to all the members of the house. They were all gutted, especially Mel, and she put her hand up to go, as she felt that she needed to be in "The House" less she was soooo upset. BUT she ended up losing Pe'ta (spelling?). They showed her again after 16 kg loss and she is lookin goood!!!!! She is a such a pretty girl. I feel so sorry for the Blue Team now they are so depleted. :'(

Mel is rejoining the blue team in whatever challenge the teams will face tonight. In the promo for this sunday's show, they gave it way as Mel was standing beside her blue teammates, donning a blue shirt. ??)

I think they might be doing that tomorrow. They haven't shown anything from next week's episodes yet.

Seeing as they cut the Thursday night show in half, I'm thinking that they'll get rid of the teams and have everybody fight for their own right to stay in this house around Tuesday-Wednesday, if not, it will definately happen by next week.

Great numbers by everybody. I was impressed with many of the results. :)

It is going to be an interesting Elimination episode tomorrow, I wonder what AJ was refering to when she says "this has never happended in TBL history" when they are in the Elimination room? Maybe someone refused to vote? Or voted for themselves?

One good thing to come out of Blue (finally) winning a weigh-in (took them long enough :P), is that Laura will now survive another week.

I'm guessing that everybody in the red team is going to vote for different people, resulting in a tie. :)

That's the first thing that popped into my head and I think it's very likely to happen.

Delighted to see Blues have a win on the scales!  Glad they won't have to send anyone home this week.  Was delighted for Laura doing such a huge number when she needed it most!

Very interesting to see Pati confess her alliance with Courtney & Munnalita is not as rock solid as those two would think! She seems to be very quietly playing a very smart game!

Personally I hope Marty survives - he'd probably drive me nuts if I was there, but not as much as the smug scheming of the other two!

Scary thing is if it is a five way tie or some weird result where the Blues get to choose, they'll probably send Greg or Marty home first - that would be a shame.

That was the best result tonight, I'm really happy with the Red Teams (or should I say the Blue Teams) decision. TEN are getting better at advertising TBL, I actuallt thought it was gonna be a TBL first, not an Aussie TBL first.

Last year, during any tie-breakers, they'd automatically eliminatate whoever lost the lowest percentage of weight. WTF was with tonight's show? ??)

Why r u all getting so freaked out about spoilertags? If you read the magazine 'TV Week' you will get all the goss a week early anyway and the show itself is pretty predictable. Sam was replaced, so why wouldn't Jules be? Listen to what they say and the outcome will be the opposite. Like if they say, "It was at that point that I knew we'd lost" that really means they won. I have noticed this during this whole season and it really pisses me off. Also where the hell did they find these people? Most of them have either given up or gotten sick or just wanna be on TV, like Courtney and Marsbar. She is the worst contestant EVER!!!!! Worse than Tracy from last year. What a wierd result in tonights Weigh In. I wasn't expecting that...
Munnalita being The Biggest Loser with 9kgs, WTF? LOL Go Munnalita (how funny is Michelles reaction gonna be tomorrow).
Its going to be a hard decision for who to send home, do you send Damien or Greg, they are both huge threats (the girls don't really matter, neither of them could win).

At the beginning of the week everyone handed the 'power' to Damien to choose the pairs. Marty was recruited back into the house because Jules had to leave because of her heart condition. Damien chose the pairs and they were Damien partnered up with Laura, Marty with Pati, Mel with Greg and Munalita with Courtney. Mel had her foot x-rayed and they discovered she has a stress fracture in her heel. Which means she cannot do any exercise that will further injure it so Shannon made up a great exercise regime for her. Munalita spent at least 6 hours every day training and that helped her to lose so much weight. OMG what a shock. The first of the weigh ins were Damien and Laura and they went great and from winning the challenge this week they were given another kilo to their total. Then Greg and Mel were weighed and they did fabulously considering Mel's handicap (how slim is her waist :o ) Greg and Mel were leading the weight loss then, then Marty and Pati were weighed and it was even better than the previous couples so that bumped Damien and Laura under the yellow line. Then... there was NO way Courtney and Munalita were going to be above the yellow line because they had a one kilo handicap due to the fact they quit the challenge because Courtney was too delicate to continue with it. Even with the handicap Munalita and Courtney blitzed the entire weigh in, stunning result. Now there is Greg and Mel, Damien and Laura up for eviction voted for by the 2 other couples! :o ::)
The preview of that episode was Greg breaking his heart, Damien crying, Marty absolutely shattered and crying and the girls up for eviction also crying. OMG I filled up with tears at the end of it because I really can't handle men crying. Seeing the clip of Michael and his new body was fantastic. What a handsome young man he is. I missed the policewoman's update clip :(

I was absolutely shocked when I saw that Munnalita had lost 9kg. She wasn't even showing all that much. Mel's results really show though. :)

I was also surprised that Michael lost so much. I think he had a lot of muscle in him even when he was overweight (since he played sport regularly), so I was a tad surprised when I saw that he lost around 49kg (Adro lost around 51 or 58kg when he won last year).

Omg! Worse case scenario! I dislike Laura although she's become less annoying now since she no longer cries all the time. I think it would be best if Damien/Laura leave tonight BECAUSE Damien has a lot of fat/flab on him, and to loose a massive amount of weight in such a short timeframe would leave over a lot of excess skin. :(

I just don't want Greg/Patti to leave. I was really hoping that they'd make it to the final 4. :(

Even though she is from Adelaide she REALLY gets on my nerves and I was ready for her and Courtney to leave tonight... ah well there's always next week... I hope... if either of them make it to the Finale I'm going to SCREAM! Moving on... it's gonna be a hard elimination tonight... I like Greg, Mel and Damien... so whoever gets eliminated its gonna be disappointing. I am really pissed that Courtney and Mars Bar made it through. It's not really surprising though, considering that the first week on the show, people usually lose heaps of weight then it slows down. They've hardly put in any effort so far, so it's like it's their first week and I think that's why they got such big numbers. Tonight will be hell. I like Mel and Damien, so I'm gonna be disappointed either way. I think it will be Greg and Mel to go, because I think the others will say Damien needs to be there and Greg and Mel can do it on their own at home. Re: Mel's waist-was relatively flat to start with, but now looks amazing!

Not a lot happened on The Biggest Loser. Two new "outsiders" have entered the house. The chick's name is Kimberly, I can't remember the guy's name though.

This weeks major challenge was that each couple had to move 4 tonnes of timber from point A to point B (a distance of 50m), and all up it had taken everybody around 5.5 hours to complete the task.

Marty and Pati won the challenge whereas Damien and Laura came last. As their punishment, D/L will be kept in solitary confinement over a 24 hour period.

And according to the sneak preview for tomorrow's episode, the two new contestants will go on the "walk".

The guy's name is Chris. Does anyone think it might be symbolic that the chick's name is spelt KimberLIE?

Up to a point it's exciting and amusing, but when it crosses the line into confusion, it makes me wonder why they strayed from the formula. Then again, I suppose if it stayed the same people would say it has become boring. I don't know-just interested in other's opinions.

I love some of the 'Walk' twists they have had this year, like the Surprise Elimination, but tonights 'Walk' was a little boring because it didn't really reveal anything, obviously they think everyone will tune in tomorrow to find out what it is (they are really good at cliff-hangers on TBL).

Considering TBL is on TV for 5hrs this week (4.5hrs so far) and I am not sick of it, must be saying something.

I happen to know why Munna... and Courtney didn't lose any/much weight last Sunday. They both agreed with each other the week before last to starve themselves so they lost alot of weight that week (explaining Munna...'s 9kg weight loss). They did this as they thought they would be vulnerable to go that week. And if anyone knows anything about weight loss. When you starve yourselve, you lose alot of weight for about a week, and then as you eat normally again, your body clings to it thinking it may be starved of it all again. It is a really unhealthy way to lose weight and I think sucked in that they are now in the bottom half, they deserve it for being to stupid.

But yet Munna is still 3rd...

I think the Chris has it right in the way the show should go...it shouldn't be about scheeming it should be about losing as much weight as you can in the workouts and being above the yellow line....and then he should have the choice to vote off each of them one by one....I believe the Court and Mun are just taking the easy way out of it to try and win the game!

Dara - there are only three finalists this year, the same as in The US, the only reason we had a final four last year was because of the Adro 'drama.'

Last night we had a huge blackout in the Maroochydore area due to a fire either locally or in the sub-station and it started at 7:10pm and ended at 20 to 9pm. Did I miss anything exciting on the show?
I find Chris immensely annoying. I loved everyone's new looks. I think Damien will look great without his beard when he loses a bit more weight.

They all made it up the stairs. Tonight, they have to do it again and the person who beats their initial time by the biggest margin will get to spend the night with a loved one.

I also noticed that Courtney waxed/shaved his immensely hairy arms...

I don't like when guys wax their hair because it's grossly immasculine IMO. I think every bloke needs at least some body hairs (unless their body naturally doesn't produce any). I do think its okay however they shave/wax body hairs that are getting a little out of hand (i.e. Courtney).

I saw some legs of guys who've waxed her legs... *shudders* What were they thinking? ??)

Although girls on the other hand can rid themselves of every hair on their bodies apart from the ones on their head. :P

body hair on men can look good, there is sexy hairy and yucky hairy, men do need some body hair :P

I love a hairless man. Lovely and smooth. Shaving one's body (chest, back,legs) on the other hand for men should be a no-no because it grows back very prickly and nasty. If all men shaved under their arms or waxed there they would find their body odor would lessen considerably because hairy armpits encourage bacterial growth which causes a smell. :X
I personally love to use the Veet brand depilatory cream or shower gel.
I don't think men who wax or get rid of their body hair in other ways are not masculine at all. Quite the opposite for me, personally.

All the men on The Biggest Loser are way too hirsute for me :D

I did enjoy last night's episode sooooo much. What a feat climbing ALL those stairs once let alone twice. I thought it would take them way longer than it did. Good on Damien improving on his time to that degree. What an achievement. I was happy that everyone got to see their loved one/s if only for a short time. Damien must of been in heaven with his visitors. Glad his Mum left them alone for the night ;) How funny, bouncy, hyper was Damien's gf! Cute as a button! Wonder who puts on weight this week. What a shock that's going to be. After doing 74 flights of stairs, twice, you would hardly imagine any of them would! :o

^ Yeah, you wouldn't think so. In TV Week, Shannon blames Bob and Jillian for changing the losers routine and diets during this week. He says none of the losers put on weight while he was thier trainer and blah blah blah. I just think Bob and Jillian were given a rotten week to come back, they all had shitty weight loss last week, this week is obviously worse again. But a 2.4KG weight gain is alot in one week especially considering what they are doing every day (I know this year it is against the rules to water load, but maybe one of them wanted to go home?).

Oh please, the weight gain is most likely due to increasing muscle mass.

Muscle does weigh more than fat, so that's a distinct possibilty. Not that I watch the show, but were they to measure the contestants (waistline etc.), that might be a better gauge of how they are doing.

Sillygostly, I found my ex-husband had 3 hairs on his chest when I married him when he was 29, by 39 he was pretty hairy on his chest and lower back. You don't want to look like Robin Williams! He looks like he has a woolly vest on :o
Muscle mass usually replaces fat. No-one can increase their muscle mass by 2.4kg in one week surely. Some of them would be plateau-ing around now but an increase???

I had a feeling they would let them all see thier loved ones, like they did with the phone calls. It really would have been a real waste of money to fly them all to Sydney from around Australia and do nothing with them. Plus it created a good chunck of emotional television to watch.

I guess the contracts/confidentiallity agreements they are all on are VERY tough, I'm guessing a great amount of money would have to be paid by anyone who leaks such details about the top 3/finale (which last year was recorded 24hrs in advance).

Who will go tonight? I think it's a no brainer and Marty will go! The reason Chris loses so much weight is he is not eating enough calories for the work outs he is doing. Bob showed him how weak he is from the lack of food. I lost 3 stone in 3 months when I was 23-24 by only eating 800 calories per day and never any more than 1000. Admittedly I did not work out much while doing it but made up for the exercise after I lost the weight. What Chris is doing, IMHO, is akin to cheating. I look at how great Munalita looks now and think 'she weighs more than I do' and I feel pretty good about that. Recently I lost 5kg over 5 weeks and would love to lose a kilo per week for the next 25 weeks :D I would look Fab-uuuuuuu-lush :)

Yeah, Marty would definately be leaving tonight. In terms of percentages, Damien's not much of a threat, although I want Chris to leave ASAP. He's so smug and pretentious and I would HATE to see him win.

I agree, Chris is the epitome of a silly, somewhat angry young man. He looked positively anorexic last night I thought. He has no energy , as witnessed by Bob in training the other night. I reckon he is starving and purging. He looks really pale and unwell. His killer instinct has kicked in and he just wants to win sooo much. He seems extremely driven and bit mad to me!!!!! Last night's show only reinforced my impressions of Chris. He gets to go to NZ and there he is stuck in bed due to his own stupidity IMHO! What a journey that was climbing that mountain, for the one's who participated! I had tears running down my face like Munalita and Patti. Everyone of those who went up the mountain should be very very proud of themselves. Surely Shannon realises that Chris is ill because he is starving himself. What a waste, it's a shame Marty wasn't there to enjoy the experience instead of Chris. Courtney and Munalita are like 'new' people with their attitudes and how cute are Courtney's dimples :)

Um Shannon is the one that puts people on 1200 or less calories a day so I doubt he realises it. He is.. not very bright...

I think I am hoping that out of those left, damien or kimberlie wins. They seem to be the only two that haven't been bitchy in some way (IMO anyway) and that seem to be there more to lose weight than for money.

Yeah, I agree with you I really like Kim, I think she has got her priorities right and she has proved that she has the skill and the ability to do it outside of that environment. What Shannon told Damien regarding rice was spot on the money though at the beginning of the week and that had to of bolstered Damien's confidence knowing that rice is starch and swells even more when you eat it and just sits. Maybe a nice compromise with the calories would be 1500 per day. So Chris joined them last night? What happened with him (saw the promo)? I too would like to see Damien and Kymberly in the final two at least.

Firstly, Suzi don't you just hate when you tape the wrong channel, annoying !!! Well Courtney jumped from a massive height harnessed to this huge swing thingy, pretty impressive I must say. Kimberley had to climb up a 90 degree rock face, she lost her rag twice, it was hilarious and scary all at the same time but she made it!!! . AND Chris was placed lying face down in this weird contraption that had some sort of motor and a funny steering apparatus and he had to negotiate up hills. Anyhoooo he got super dizzy and almost lost consciousness and had to be taken down....he was a lighter shade of pale when they pulled him in let me tell you!! Shannan gave him another lecture re: eating more etc etc and not to blow it by being so driven. ::)

I think the only 'problem' that Chris has is that he doesn't do anything in halfs and if he does anything it has to be full on or nothing...it's a pitty this means that it drives him into the ground and he ends up in hospital

This is just my opinion, but I think most asian people (that are skinny) probably don't sit around all day watching tv. In my experience at least, people from asian countries have a stronger work ethic and they work a lot harder during the day. They work longer days too. The variety and amount of vegetables was mind boggling. The chinese will eat rice for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with other food and in particular vegetables. They eat very little meat and of that very very little red meat. My daughter-in-law is 45kg and ate much more than I do BUT she never stopped. From the moment she got up in the morning until night time. They do have a great worth ethic and live to make money. I found she didn't know how to have 'fun', which is sad but we taught her and now in Perth my son and she have fun especially with their new Nintendo Wii.
Regarding Damien's rice with his 5 star dinner. I think it was the proportion he had when weighed up against other food and the way it was presented/cooked. The Chinese also, if they are feeling unwell in their tummy, will eat a rice soup called 'congee' which is bland and watery and horrid (IMHO) just cooked rice and water, hot. It works but I couldn't eat it, BLEAH!
As far as junk food goes, they have very sweet 'tooth's and the junk food they brought back from China last year filled boxes and boxes and was disgusting (except for the chocolate filled tiny teddy type biscuits :B).

We had korean homestays but they werent that thin.
But yeah a lot of asians are really petite and thin (and they all get the shiniest hair so lucky!))
I hate cooked veges tho.. i can eat heaps raw but if they are cooked i dont feel like eating them

This show has been rating really well this week, via the NZ episodes. Some were saying that the ratings for this season were lower then last year, but I think they are quickly catching up to about the same or even more, after a slow start. 1.2's all week so far, with a 1.5ish for the weigh-in last Sunday. Not bad!

It should be interesting tonight to see who is the last person to win the challenge tonight and have to go home...i'm not sure if I would put money on it but it might be Chris's turn to get kicked!

The only reason I said this was because my background is Chinese, and we eat rice everyday (although I do favour "Aussie" food) and yeah, my dad and stepmum eat about 1/2 a cup of rice a day and they are skinny. Personally I think that the body knows how to control the rice because they have had it since birth.... but yeah.... just thinking out loud.

And as for the "cangee" (thats what I my parents call it) it truely is the most horrid thing you can ever eat! It takes me about 45 mins to eat a bowl of it...

If it's the 2 cups of diet dairy stuff then Chris is gone but from the snippets of them speaking after the challenge I don't think it is Chris who goes (damn) :( How great did they all do and Patti coming second ;) I paid attention to how their names are spelled this week and it is Shannan and Kimberlie (I think I always spelled them wrong) oh, and Munnalita.

Havn't been here for awhile, so hi everyone! :D

Coz I havn't been here, I'm just gonna say my comments on everything that's been happening lately.
  Shannan and Michelle are good trainers, I just don't know if they're right for the show.  Michelle seems really hard and has a really short fuse and Shannan, even though he goes on about the 'spirituality' of this, I don't think he really cares as long as they're losing weight.  Basically, it's their first time showing the world what sort of trainers they are and above everything, they don't want to fail.  Bob and Jill are used to fame and public criticism, so they seem to focus on the contestants more.  Remember Jill with Shane last year?

Chris-  Can't stand him.  I don't think he has any type of problem at all, I think he is just an arrogant, self-centred dickhead and I wanna see him lose.  The best thing is that Mars Bar is ahead of him and it must be killing him to be beaten by a girl! :P :D

NZ-all of those things looked so fun.  There is no way I could do the canyon swing or the bungee-too scary.  I would do the rock climbing, the jump Patti did and the thing Chris did (we've got something like that down the Gold Coast.  It's called the Flycoaster and up to three people get strapped into this thing, they raise you 11 stories and then you pull the ripcord and freefall the 11 stories.  Then you swing til you stop.  That was reallly fun when I did it).

The challenge-  Here's my choices in order from best to worst.

Patti's language has settled down a lot since she's been there.  When she first got there she would swear in nearly every sentence we saw, I think she's calmed down within herself a lot since the beginning, good on her.  Kimberlie has always spoken well for herself, I loved what she said last night when AJ told her she was the biggest loser for the week, that it didn't mean much to her as long as she was losing weight, she's a very sweet & determined woman, and I hope she stays in.  :)

I hope it's either Alex or Greg that comes back, but seeing Marty's luck in the past, it could be him!  :P

What's your motivation now to win the $50,000 prize for the Biggest Loser eliminated contestants?
I haven't done my tax for about six years. I wasted a lot of money on drugs and alcohol and didn't put any away for tax. I tried to get my tax sorted out but I didn't get to by the time the show started and I had messages on my phone saying I owe the tax department $42,000! The three months I've been in the house with no contact with the outside world the tax department have been charging me $19,000 interest each time I missed the deadline. So with any luck I'll continue to lose the weight and be in with a chance for the $50,000. I'm pretty sure I can do that and pay off my tax debt and start fresh in 2007. I'd rather pay it back than go to jail.

I want a woman to win and I really don't care who out of the three remaining. Actually, if Chris does what he says he will with the winnings then at this point I don't even care if he wins. I am kind of just wanting it to be over. Speaking of idiots winning big money.... Jamie, who won last year's BB was way too immature and stupid to win that much money. David would of done a lot of good with the winnings but Jamie has blown, so far, $50k on partying. When Jamie won I was gobsmacked and so disappointed.

I personally don't see why people don't like Chris much at all but it's each to their own...now that Courtney has gone I really don't care who wins....actually you know how one of the elimated contests gets to come back in the competition I was hopeing that Alex comes back but I wondered what the odds are that, that happens....

I'm with you SuziH... I think it is starting to drag out a little and can't wait for the finale and for BB to start. Don't get me wrong though, I have really enjoyed the show (almost as much as last year) and hope it comes back next year (which is almost garunteed).

Most of the people are so so lovely. I love seeing them all again. Greg would have to be one of my most favourite as well as Michael. How terrific do they look. Greg cannot stop smiling and his wife and kids must be so happy to have him 'back' to his old self. Mel is gorgeous and good on her for being smart enough not to put more strain on her ankle/heel. Isn't it great that Jools/Jules is still losing weight also and is getting better healthwise! Gerard winning the challenge was astonishing. I think Alex's excuse that he 'only' spent one week in the house is a bit of a cop out. He would of gone back into the real world armed with heaps of information and like everyone else who has been eliminated would have access to a Gym and personal trainer. He's a lovely bloke but as a chef it will be harder for him IMHO, to stick to a healthy eating regimen and have time to fit in his training if he isn't dedicated 100%. Love the friendship that is between Marty, Greg and Alex. So good to see :D

Yeah Suzi, I totally agree it was sooo good to see them all assembled again. Mel, who is my standout fave, looked absolutely amazing, her body shape has changed completely. Greg is extremely good looking, what a spunk, and Michael and Gerard are completely glowing. Will be interesting to see how this all works out... 2 weeks to go!!!!! I too, really hope a female wins this thing. Go the Girls:K)

Alex's restaurant is actually a very healthy Mongolian BBQ restaurant (in Ringwood East, Vic) called Kublai which is mostly stir-fries, so don't think he can blame his restaurant!! Being able to cook lots of other yummy stuff doesn't help, but then he needs to learn healthier recipes to cook if he's going to use that excuse... :P :)

I really really hope Greg goes back in and wins, he is such a happy person now, so full of pride and joy for himself and his family, it's so nice to watch. All he needs now is a good haircut (which might take 2kgs off! ;) LOL) and then he'd be a total hottie! :D I'm sure his wife is very pleased with his results, as you can tell he is also.

You will never see it! . . with % weight loss as the marker, the guys will always win . . at the start they are bigger by miles and the excersize builds muscle to give them strength for next weeks tasks . . thereby making them more able to lose the fat more effectively.

I think Pati was just showing her fear and nervousness Dara, knowing she could end up below the yellow line, and she did. She really wants to win this competition whereas Kimberlie says openly it is not about the money and doesn't mind if she doesn't win. The final 5 Evicted contestants did phenominally well with their weightlosses and deserved to be back in the house. But... as we saw, only ONE can be and it was Marty and wow, what a weight loss he had. Good on him, I say. I would of been happy if Michael or Gerard had come through in the end but let's give credit where credit is due! Marty deserves to be there. I enjoyed the catch up segment on Jules and Courtney. How fantastic has Jules done, how proud she must be. Courtney just gets nicer and nicer the more weight he loses (in personality and character and I have to say appearance). This week is it, guys, whooohooo!

Kimberlie obviously caught Chris out in a lie, or two, when they first entered the white house. He then turned on her. At eviction tonight he said she didn't support him once they entered the house, he also said she had talked about him behind his back. Who knows what really was behind their ill feeling toward each other. From watching the show tonight that is what I gleaned. This post is mostly to answer a question posed in a thread of it's own created by ells84. Hope that clears it up for you ells84. Suzi really hates double threads, ask anyone here.

I would have officially HATED Munnalita if she voted for Pati, because it would have to be the stupidest move (strategically). If either girl falls below the yellow line this week, then Munnalita wouldn't have had anybody left in the house to save her behind.

The winner of The Biggest Loser is based on who lost the HIGHEST percentage of weight out of the finalists. At the moment, I think Chris is in first place and Munnalita is second. Not sure about Marty although he's likely to be third.

Well , lil erin, I looked up the TV guide for Sunday and it states that the show is only on between 6.30 pm and 7.00 pm and that it is about the final 3 going over their "journey" in the house....also TBL goes for 1 hour on FRiday 20/4/07. So I kind of figured that it would be the elimination show! ;)

She gained weight as her parents divorced. Before she said her mum wasn't very good and she had a hard childhood. Her mum wrote her that letter and all. ah she's annoying.

You're all forgetting that this is not Australia's Best Personality. The competition is Australia's Biggest Loser. The person who is going to win will be the one to lose the most weight, regardless of personality.

I agree with Dara , I find Pati extremely irritating..Yes it is all about the "Biggest Loser" of weight, but a huge part of of these "reality" programmes, is how the public responds to the different personalities. As in life, you find yourself more attracted to some more than the others... I keep changing my mind about who I want to win....(only know who I don't want to win..... >:( Chris)

yes, i dont want chris to win, he stinks personality wise and he hasnt been there for forever.... i go to high school and well im already back.... qld only gets like a 10 days of eater holidays... and tats including the weekend, but then we get an extra weeka nd a half in the summer holz, and we have about 6 or 7 pupil free days this term...

I think that is correct Erin. If it was a tie then Pati would go. I am sure Munnalita will be in the final 3. I was stunned at how little the girls lost this week. The changes in their bodies since their journeys began is phenominal. How chubbly were Marty and Chris! ??) It was sad for Shannan and Michelle to say goodbye to them. :(

Unfortunately for the girls, we can really only see the changes in their faces and arms/legs at the moment, I sort of wish they were still weighing in wearing those sports bra tops they were at the beginning so we can see how their waist sizes have changed too... boys too should be taking off their shirts... I wonder why they don't anymore, maybe to keep the suspense up for the finale??? :-/

I was wondering the same thing about how they are covered up now for the weigh ins.. interesting!!!. The boys both look astoundingly different it is incredible to see the transformation in those before and after shots... Usually when people lose large amounts of weight fairly quickly , their skin is still stretched and tends to hang in folds

I seem to remember one of the current affairs programmes showing such people having the excess skin removed surgically

Not being a TBL viewer , do they ever show the people's bare waists after the weight loss ??

Good point that is precisely why they are not stripping off for the weigh ins now , as they all will have heaps of loose skin unsightly skin.....God... damned if you do damned if you don't .....big but firm butt or small but saggy butt ....yeah but no but!!!!!!!! :(

It is a massive weight loss in what is it..... 2 months or three? Anyway it is such a massive amount that the elasticity in the skin cannot cope and they become saggy baggy elephants (excuse the analogy and I don't mean to be rude). Adro needed an operation to cut all the excess skin off, Big Wal on the other hand didn't because he worked out so much (Like Marty) that he was buff! :P I think Munnalita, Pati, Mel and couple of other girls will be okay regarding excess skin but Kimberlie will need an operation for sure, as will Damien and more than likely one or two other men. Michael, Marty, Courtney and Greg, oh and probably Gerard (is it?) will not need to have their excess skin cut off because they work out so much to build their muscle mass up. It's down to tin tacks now guys! Whoooohoooo! ;)

Well we can see damo's skin hanging out the sides of his shirt anyway now, so we might as well see it all! :P

Nah just kidding, probably best we don't see it I suppose, but I would like to see them wearer shirts that are a little more fitted than those baggy unshaped things they weigh in in now so we can get a better idea of how they're going!! ;)

Damien and Kimberly will definately need to get all that excess skin cut off. The first time we saw Kim, her skin was already hanging out quite a bit.

With persistent exercise, I reckon the others will be able to build up muscle mass to make up for all the weight they've lost. :)

And in regards to one of the above posters, Chris' percentage of weight loss was like 37% whereas Marty's was in the 31% range. That's a LOT of weight that Marty will need to lose in order to catch up to Chris, not to mention that Marty will also need to make up for the weight that Chris loses outside the house. ??)

You'd have to be naive to think they'd vote for Pati. Munnalita's coming second in the game, and she was a big threat in the game. I don't think Pati stands a chance, and I REALLY don't think Chris needs his ego boosted any more than it has. So I hope Marty wins. (or Pati, but I doubt she would)

Apparently not as naive as we thought sillygostly. Pati, Marty, Chris the final three. I had a tear that Munnalita left. I hope she wins the $50k trainers prize. They looked so fabulous, OMG how great was that. Chris had hardly any flappy bits nor did Marty, actually Marty looked the buffest when it came to muscle tone and lack of excess skin. Loved it when Chris's Mum checked under his shirt to see just what 'Christopher's' body looked like :B Nothing like a Mum to embarrass you on National TV and in front of your mates. ;)

With the weight loss, does the percentage of total body weight lost count toward the final weigh-in, not just the total KG lost? Just curious. :-/

Well now I'm hoping Marty wins the title. They all looked fabulous though, and Chris' mum was hilarious! ;)

i wish muna got through, but im happy cuz 'christopher' has lost all the weight, like he wante dto get down to 90kg, and that means he had like 6 weeks or whatever to just stay fit, but i tihnk marty could easily gain that extra 6% of weight loss!! And i dont think Pati has a chance, like as Shannon said she has never pulled off a big no. but has never had a bad no. (except for the fianl weigh in)

Chris has lost all his fat and will now be building muscle which only puts weight back on, so he's stuffed. Marty has determination and if he gets down to under 85 kilos, he'll win. But I seriously think Pati will win. If she really worked hard, which I believe she does, she could lose another 20 kilos or so and with the way the percentages go with different starting weights, she could have a real chance. Let's not forget that if Kristy last year had lost a few more kilos, she would have won. :D

yer i never liked munna until about 4 weeks ago... lol she was ALWAYS oh me me me, poor me i have to cry ALL the time.... but then she changed, it was like she gew up about another 10years in a few weeks!!

I thought that Munnalita looked sensational, as an overweight person myself, I could not believe the transformation in her face, her smile took up her whole face, she looked great!!!

I reckon that she will be pregnant at the final!  Also everyone looked fantastic, they are an encouragement to us all, but then I am sure that if we all didn't have to work and could just work our butts off all day and everyday and not have the level of sociable temptations we could all lose weight as well.

They all deserve to win great work everyone.

I don't care who wins, I mean Chris' arrogance was just so friggin annoying, but I think that in the last couple of weeks he realised that you can't be a hard a#rse all the time, everyone has a gentle caring side, and I think once it got to fewer people in the house he came out and felt safer to let his guard down.  His mum was so cute when she was spinning him around checking him out!

Marty, well in some ways I don't think that it is fair that he came back 3 times, but then 3 times he came back through hard work, so I guess it was sort of fair.  Marty is another whose face has changed so much, his smile is just so huge he looks like Cherish Cat off Alice in Wonderland.  He is looking buff and fantastic.

Patti, is looking so confident and she knows that for once in her life she has done this for herself.  Patti looks so happy and just so bright and full of energy.

I think the thing that we need to remember is that unless you have been severely overweight or morbidly obese you cannot truly understand the elation at being preceived to be 'normal'  The way that society treats overweight people is appalling, and people need to understand that for some obese people the way to get through life is to be seen as unfeeling, arrogant and uncaring what people think of you aka Chris.

As they have touched on in this series you have to get to the bottom of why you put on the weight in the 1st place, Munnalita ate because she had so much emotional pain, eating was her way of dealing with this pain, it then becomes a vicious cycle of self hatred fueled by rejection, confliction and then disgust.

In my mind they are all winners all ready, because they have lost and they are happy, for some this is the first time in memory that they can truly be ectastic and proud.

No, the finale is on next Thursday night (26/4).

No, Alex wasn't skinny by any means last time I saw him. His journey is probably the hardest of all of them except for maybe Jules and her medical problems. We must remember that although it is only going to be less than a week for us in 'real time' from when we saw them last night until we see them at the finale, it will of been 6 weeks in the competitor's lives that have gone by! It will be fantastic to see them ALL at the finale. :D

As far as I can see, there will be three prizes; the 'Biggest Loser', the Biggest Loser from the eliminated contestants, and the Trainer's Choice, but obviously, I don't know for sure.  :-/

Pati is definately my fav now.  I can't stand Chris and if I had my way, Marty wouldn't be there so I have to go for Pati. ::)

BTW, MY perfect Biggest Loser would be: no 'outsiders' or 'intruders', a different 'walk', and the person who goes home is NOT decided by the contestants, it's the person who loses the least weight each week.  I know everyone wouldn't agree with this, so just know that's MY opinion. :D

it would be a good way to have the eliminated contestants go home if they loose the lowest percentage... but I guess tv isnt like that anymore and it is like you have to have people betraying each other and stuff.... but yes no outsiders and intruders would be great!!

I agree! Or at the very least have it so that it's out of the lowest two from the beginning, not just after they've gotten rid of all the people they don't like first... :( It's supposed to be primarily about losing weight, not making friends!

yeah but he might not have gained "fat" weight. It might have been muscle weight. But I do agree, I didn't like the fact that Marty had so many second chances. There were other people I felt deserved them more (even though he earned most of them).

YAY YAY YAY only no days to go!! tehehe this morning when i woke up it was exactly 12hours and 5 mins.... yay!! wait wait now it is only 6 hours and 59 minutes!! yay... wow i dunno why i am getting so worked up, but i was sick on tuesday and went home from school like before the bell even went... and then luckily no school yestreday, and i am still not that well but we have cross country and i have injured ankles/tendoms in my feet or whatever so i cant run or really do any kind of sport.. cept swimming of course!!

He's a smug insidious natured mummy's boy who has been very backhanded and secretive about the way he has conducted himself.
He's said to all that he holds no grudges, doesn't want revenge... proclaims himself to be integral and fair, yet when his guard is down and he's bragging to the camera/diary moments, his true nature shows through. And that is that he is a very insecure and petty individual.
All of them have had to manipulate and fudge the truth at times, but Marty has gone one step further by proclaiming himself to be full of integrity. Laughable.

That said, he will likely win because he's male and has more weight to lose than Chris, whom was already looking a little sickly and really only needed to be toning his body.

Will be interesting to see if Munnalita followed through on her determination and scores the actual biggest weight loss of all contestants.

Btw, does anyone know much about the "White House"? as in who owns it etc? Someone must move out of it for the 3/4 months that production and filming is in place.

Disappointed that Chris won (was not surprised AT ALL with the outcome). I'm also really glad that Michael won out of the eliminated contestants. He's changed so much. :o Although he kinda looks a little older. It's crazy that 3 contestants have lost over 70kgs.

Did y'all really find it boring? I must admit, it wasn't as exciting as it has been previously, but I also didn't think it felt as dragged out as it has in the past either.

Munnalita looked fantastic. I am kind of dissapointed she didn't win the Eliminated Contestants prize (she beat Marty %wise though).

Also, Chris winning was a real downer at the end of the show :P. He seemed really uncomfortable the whole time, especially when he went to hug AJ the first time, it all seemed forced.

Munnalita's dress was IMO the best on the night. OMG it was just perfect for her, colour, style etc.... PURRRRRRFECT!
Kimberlie looked stunning though. Her face and hair is just (I've run out of adjectives!) amazing. I thought she looked as beautiful or more beautiful than any model I have seen.
Damien has a huge future with his singing. What a wonderful voice. As good or better than a lot of famous rockers. Damien looks better with his beard I think.

Greg, Michael and Courtney looked great and Greg didn't look gaunt like Michael & Chris.
What a good looking man Greg is, his wife must be happy to have her 'old' husband back! His children are just too cute. Alex has done so so well in those last 6-8 weeks before the Grand Finale.
I can't wait until some finale pics are published so I can post them here, especially the girls outfits. I thought Ajay's choice of dress could of been better. Tight fitting satin is a hard choice to make.

THE season finale of The Biggest Loser airs on Channel 10 tonight, but even before the fat lady has sung the kilo-blasting contestants have started to stack the weight back on.

The second series of the program has been plagued with constant criticism from exercise and nutrition experts for presenting unrealistic methods of losing weight within a relatively short period of time.

They have argued severe dieting and exercise puts pressure on the body, triggering a range of health problems and encouraging even more weight to pile back on once the fat-fighters resume normal lifestyles outside of the heavily controlled environment of the series.

They might be right.

In tonight's finale, viewers will discover if it is Chris, Pati or Marty who has shed the most kilos, but behind the scenes the experts' fears are already emerging.

Young gun Chris, who is a hot tip for The Biggest Loser title of 2007, having dropped almost 60kg from a starting weight of 149.5kg, was seen chowing down on a calorie-laden Big Mac at McDonald's in Sydney's Kingsford on Monday.

Greg, who managed to shed 24kg from his 148kg frame before he was eliminated, was busted scoffing ice cream at Harbourside Darling Harbour on Tuesday morning, while big bloke Damien - the heaviest ever Biggest Loser contestant - was spotted putting away three meat pies outside the Edgecliff centre at midday the same day.

Their public junk food munching has distressed devoted fans of the show.

"I watched the complete series and Damien went through hell but I was so proud of him," one viewer told Confidential.

"To see him throwing it away and making such a spectacle of himself was really sad."

This is why I am against shows like this. Having battled the demons of overweight all my life, I have personally experienced much of the above.

Reality weight loss program The Biggest Loser will return for a third series in 2008 after its finale awarded Network Ten with its best night of the year.

More than two million tuned in to watch Sydney 23-year-old Chris Garling named the winner of the series last night - he'd reduced his body weight from 149.5kg to 79.4kg.

Although Garling wasn't the most popular of the show's final three contenders, that didn't effect the ratings with 2.02 million viewers tuning in.

Network Ten programming chief David Mott said the series' overall ratings - it regularly exceeded one million viewers - were "spectacular", especially in the 18 to 49 age group.

He confirmed there would be a third series.

The Biggest Loser's return sees a large portion of Ten's prime time schedule locked-in for next year, with it alternating timeslots with the network's other reality franchises Big Brother and Australian Idol.

In the finale, which was recorded on Monday, Garling finished with a higher percentage of weight loss than the other finalists, Marty Barrett, 38, and Pati Singe, 26.

The competitive Garling said his steely determination probably put him off-side with some fellow contestants and viewers.

"That's what happens when you work really hard and have only one goal," he said.

Now, he said, he wanted to work with obese children.

"Adults who are overweight have the knowledge, but choose not to do anything about it, but children need to be empowered to live a healthier lifestyle," he said.

He said he would strike while the iron was hot.

"My Z-grade celebrity status is sure to die off sooner rather than later so I'm going to have to get cracking if I'm going to have any impact," he said.

Garling also said he wanted to bulk up his 198cm frame to about 100kg - all of it muscle.

"I have the guns (biceps) of a six-year-old girl, so I'll need to do something about that," he said.

Damien has a huge future with his singing. What a wonderful voice. As good or better than a lot of famous rockers. Damien looks better with his beard I think.

Greg, Michael and Courtney looked great and Greg didn't look gaunt like Michael & Chris.
What a good looking man Greg is, his wife must be happy to have her 'old' husband back! His children are just too cute. Alex has done so so well in those last 6-8 weeks before the Grand Finale.
I can't wait until some finale pics are published so I can post them here, especially the girls outfits. I thought Ajay's choice of dress could of been better. Tight fitting satin is a hard choice to make.

Yeah I was worried chris would look worse though, he should not loose any more than he has. Marty was borderline. Pati did actually look really good. I agree munalitta looked really awesome I loved the colour of her dress! Mel's dress looked really nice on her as well and she is way skinnny.
Kim had lost heaps and she did look nice I thought, though I wasn't sure her hairstyle suited.

I hate it when a good show gets ruined by a loser( hee hee) winning. I STILL can't stand Chris and obviously weight loss was never very important to him coz he went (heaps) past his goal weight just to win money. I reckon he'll put it all back on.

All the girls looked AMAZING! I didn't even recognise Sam the first time I saw her and Mars Bars waist shocked the sh#t out of me. Greg looks so hot-his wife will probably be preggers before Mars Bar. :P

Every season the contestants lose more weight (First season in states biggest loser only lost about 10-30 kilos, now they're losing 60-100 kilos) so maybe the ones we don't like nexst year will just disappear! :D

I was also completely wowed by Mars Bars' waist. :)

And I think Michael needs just a tad more weight in his face.

yeah, michael looks too skinny in the face and Dara is so right-his mouth is ginormous-, he looks like the Joker! :D maybe someone could find pics to compare.

How Kai helped Ajay become a big winner

MOTHER'S DAY: EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

MOTHER'S Day is bittersweet for Ajay Rochester.

It is a time of celebration for The Biggest Loser host and her "little blessing" - her autistic son Kai, whom she credits with bringing joy back into her life.

But there is also sorrow as she recalls the heartbreak of the two women she called mother.

"I've fallen in love with Kai. As a mother, I became everything I wanted in a mother. We give 1000 kisses a day."

At 38, she may be a TV star and author, a mother and soon to be married to fiance Martin Gleave, but Rochester has suffered throughout her life.

Adopted as a child, she was emotionally and physically abused by her adoptive mother and spent many years searching for her birth mother.

When at last she found her, 15 years ago, the pair had only a year together before her mother committed suicide.

"I try not to focus on the sadness," Rochester said. "I do miss her on Mother's Day. Sometimes, I go out and put flowers on her grave."

She blames her mother's death and her estrangement from her adopted mother for her dangerous obsession with food, which saw her weight hit 130 kilograms.

"I was seriously obese and, when I lost my mum, I spiralled even further," she said.

"There were lots of punishments around food. If I didn't eat everything on my plate, my adopted mother used to force the food into my mouth and hold it closed. "When my birth mum died, I used food as it was the only support system I had."

Seven years later she gave birth to Kai - her son from a previous relationship - and credits him with saving her life. She has lost half her body weight since giving birth.

"Kai was my little blessing. He was the most extraordinary thing that happened to me," Rochester said as she played with Kai, 7, during a recording break at a Sydney studio.

"Being a mother absolutely changed my life for the better.

"If I didn't have him, I would seriously doubt I would still be here today.

"When you become a mum, you see the world from a different angle and you stop putting yourself first."

When Kai was two, Rochester noticed that he appeared different from other children.

It took three years for him to be diagnosed with Asperger syndrome, a high-functioning form of autism.

"Everything has got to be very ordered and structured and everything has got to be very planned, otherwise he freaks out," she said. "There was a really, really dark time three years ago where I would stand with my head against the wall. I sobbed and cried and I didn't know how to deal with it."

These days they are a great team.

"She is the best mummy in the world because she makes me a good dinner and she gives me back tickles," Kai said.

Tomorrow, Rochester will launch the Thank You Project with radio station Mix 106.5, for which she has conducted a series of "social experiments" to test whether Sydneysiders thank people for charitable deeds.

Little Kai has helped once-troubled Ajay Rochester find joy and laughter again after a tragic series of events.
