What does everyone think of this show?  I think it is great.  My favourite segments are Serial Killers and also the one where they ride the bike and do the drawings.  I am not a big fan of substitute but I know heaps of people love it.

I do however, get disappointed with some of the guests like that guy last year that was so rude to leave his sunglasses on the whole show.  And what about Boobarella last week, put them away, no one needs to see that.

Everyone in this house LOVES spicks and specks, loved their chrissy special last year, all the guys were snoggin each other....it was great....and as for boobarella....put em away.......I love Miff i think she is soooo smart when it comes to music..well both caps are really......Fav segment is the drawing one......i just laugh at what some of them are supposed to be.....and substitute i think how the hell did you get that one....anyhoooooo love the show.... :)

I don't think there's a part of this show that I dislike.  It's really entertaining.

Yeah, I like it too. I do wonder about the scoring though. I never know who is winning until the end or there is a score up date. The celebrity guests are cool too except for one they had on called Hamish. Bring on Adam more, he's funny - I think he writes the show too. :D

Last nights episode had some weird stuff..i knew Led Zep had a reputation for backward masking but had never heard Stairway like that before..strange if not a little unsubtle

But how funny was this?

Did anyone else watch it?

I know I did and I couldn't stop laughing :D

Dame Edna was hilarious as always. And what was with Alan's beard? Oh, and was Adam Richards, Santa? Anyway I loved it, it made my night.

Who was the bulky blonde during the chior round? Not often I have a disliking for someone as soon as they open the trap!

That was Meshel Laurie, she's a comedian and radio DJ.

LOVED this show. :D I missed last years and was so disappointed, but this year I made sure I caught it and am so very glad I did. They were all fantastic and now I'm missing it and wishing time would fast forward to when the new season starts. lol :P

Myf looked gorgeous... she brought the girls to play as well  :D

Did I hear correctly?  Is she going to be part of the new breakfast show on triple jjj?

On a previous television discussion board that I used to post upon, Myf was plagiarizing the drivel we were discussing for some of her trivia competitions

Yeah she is built for radio, if it's muted!

I watched it and recorded it so I can get my fix while the 'off' season is 'on'. Debra Byrne (spelling?) is the biggest nut job I have seen for quite some time. Her brain is fried from substance abuse and I am sure she was taking double the recommended dose of her antidepressants!  ??) I have seen her on several things in the last year or so and she is not quite all there. She makes next to no sense at all when she speaks.
The other guests I loved but agree with Aqua regarding Meshel Laurie!
Dame Edna came up with some gems and I woke up this morning with 'D ick the Horse' carol going through my head! Adam Hills is so gorgeous as a person and the perfect host for this show. Alan's beard reminds me of my son's beard he grew this last winter, when it was in it's early stages, yuck. Grows right down onto their chest almost. Thankfully my son shaved his off. I thought the Choir was terrific and Val Gillet as always such a beautiful lady.
Loved when Dame Edna said her own haircolour is called Jacaranda!
Spicks and Specks one of my all time fav shows.

I don't mind Debbie Byrne - I like nutty out there people. I used to dislike Meshel Laurie but grew to like her a little while watching her on Rove..although I still find her a little annoying. Absolutely love Dame Edna and got a laugh out of her calling her hair colour jacaranda as well!

I don't mind people like Deborah/Debbie or Pinky from machine gun fellatio on programs like this... generally good for a laugh & a reminder not to touch lysergic acid

I think suzi has said it all for me.........except to add that Myf was gorgeous as usual. She is so natural, I think we are gonna see a lot more of her on TV.

I certainly hope so. Did you all see her on 'My Favourite Album'? I think I nearly burned a hole in my TV screen from staring in one spot too much.  :B  :P Hehehehe!

I do like some nutty people and absolutely love Pinky, cracked me up whenever he was on the Glasshouse. I think because Deb Byrne is around my age and I have watched her through the good and bad times I am just sick of her. Myf is too cute for words and I have noticed she is well endowed and very natural. Does anyone know how Adam Hills lost His right foot and ankle?  Just curious. :-/

Adendum: Adam was born with no right foot but otherwise whole. No-one knows why, apparently. I found this info at:

Myf is great :-)

For people with set top boxes, you can catch repeats of Spicks & Specks on ABC2. It was on last night at least..

I read an article/interview with him several years ago when he decided to incorporate it/reveal it... I seem to recall him saying something about the umbilical cord was wrapped around his ankle

Doesn't Mikey Robins look good?  His knowledge of music last night amazed me too.

Frank Ifield has aged better than Brian Cadd. :)

I love the show and never miss it.  Adam and Myf are great.
I wish I could remember the name of that blues trio, they were fantastic.
Can anyone remember their name  ?

There's an interactive Spicks and Specks game that will be released on August 15th on DVD. The game will include 2 buzzers and around 1500 questions. It costs about $45, although you can probably get it cheaper at one K-Mart, Target etc.

I do personally believe the gastric bypass surgery is abhorrent & the person is simply lazy.

He should have a reasonable memory having worked in the industry, behind a radio mixing desk, for many many many years... I am more impressed with the recall of the token New Zealander.  He manages to pull some of massively esoteric knowledge from the bottomless pit of hell sometimes.  The time that Myf stuffed up the Nirvana question has been added to her biography on wikipedia

I didn't mention surgery did I?   ??)

I do personally believe, however, that the gastric bypass surgery was a last resort and the person has more guts than me.

Did I mention that you did?  I wasn't saying anything against you personally, just the person himself... for a long time he made a living mocking himself for being the token fat child.  Telling the same stories over and over and over and over on the triple jjj breakfast show.  About how he used to steal money from his mother, waddle several streets over from his house & wait for the ice cream truck.  Patiently wait in line.  Then have the ice cream man loudly announce that his mother had contacted him and none of the local ice cream men were allowed to sell to him... or that he spent several months at University, in his room, perfecting the ideal toasted cheese sandwich, which consisted of three different kinds of cheeses

Agree on both points. I like mikey and have since he did GNW but it's a fairly extreme way to lose weight. Just cut the carbs and run.

And yes alan's knowledge is extraordinary. i thought i had a head full of useless musical facts but this guy takes the cake.

I used to really like Spicks and Specks but lately just have to switch off because some of the comedian guests are really annoying. In particular, Peter Helliar and Mikey Robins. They are attention whores and sometimes have to keep interrupting other guests with their comments.

I never did like Peter Helliar.  when he was on Rove he was most unfunny

& how funny was Myf's replication of dancing on the balcony with her roommate to the Destiny's Child song?

That visiting comedian was quite funny this week... when he actually said something

Be careful about whose grass you intend to cut... I will cash in my managed funds, empty my bank account, sell all of my shares & other investments to raise the capital to hunt you down should you continue with the endeavour of trying to encroach on the love that I share with the gorgeous Myf.  Fair enough, it's extremely one-sided & she doesn't know I exist ... but still

Sorry to put  this image in your heads guys but don't you think Myf sometimes reminds you of Gina Riley from Kath & Kim? anywayz I think shes a little cutey when she smiles and they would be missing a big part of the show if she were to leave I think.

Is there an American version of this show that I'm not aware of?

I'm comfortable with my mental images Of Myf to shoot down your theory with no vengeance

Except to say that have similar hairstyles, sometimes

I am led to believe the show was originally based on an English concept... one of the pedantic few in here will let you know

Now she is working for commercial radio they have mutually agreed to cancel the contract

Does anyone know whether they are doing a special Melbourne Comedy Festival Special.  I am sure they did one last year but either I've missed it or they've made yet another stupid chop (or I've remembered incorrectly).

Also, and this is more pie in the sky, web site says Audience has been booked our for 2008 (all episodes). Did/has anyone gone and how far in advance do you need to book.
